Department Profile:
· Key mandates of the CIB are: 1) managing relationship with a group of blue-chip Japanese corporate clients primarily at the headquarters level; 2) working with bankers and product partners in Japan and across the globe to increase revenue from clients in Japan as well as abroad, and maximizing profitability of each relationship; 3) managing internal processes including and not limited to credit and environmental risk management and know-your-customer (KYC) through collaborating with relevant internal resources in Japan and abroad
· At CIB, senior bankers are primarily responsible for driving client communication, promoting HSBC capabilities across the globe, and taking ownership of internal processes such as credit risk management and KYC. Junior bankers of LLC are responsible for offering supports to these activities of senior bankers
Job Responsibilities
· Support senior management in identifying strategies to maintain / enhance overall relationship return and ensure early identification of potential credit issues
· Support the achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment
· Support senior management to maximize the revenues of customer portfolio, and increase Bank’s share of wallet with our clients
· Identify marketing opportunities, preparing ad-hoc strategic analysis papers.
· Act as primary point of contact for clients and internal colleagues
· Complete review and submission of credit risk returns including limit excess/exception, security/documentation outstanding, monthly credit control reports etc.
· Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved.
· Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
· Bachelor degree or above
· Corporate Banker having minimum 2 years of general banking experience with a significant exposure in Corporate Banking and experience marketing banking services to multinationals
· Sound knowledge of the spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services, as well as the practices and procedures.
· Client service experience paired with a strong sense of accountability and integrity; strong sales oriented, self-motivated and driven
· Strong analytical skills with an ability to think laterally to facilitate the structuring of complex credits and to quickly determine the issue pertaining to a credit situation
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· High standard of spoken and written English, fluency in written, reading, and spoken Japanese required
· Good team player, able to work at a high standard on time sensitive deliverable in a complex
· matrixed organization
