  • Markets & Securities Services (MSS) provides comprehensive global, regional and domestic fund services including Fund Administration, Global Custody, Sub-custody, Asset Servicing, Issuer Services and Trustee and Fiduciary Services to the international asset management industry.
  • Work with a team of staff providing securities services to clients that involve performing Asset Servicing for Traditional funds. The job requires working in an automated/semi-automated/manual environment with a keen eye for detail. The incumbent would be expected to perform under stringent timelines with consistently high levels of accuracy thereby ensuring the highest quality service to the client in order to support the final valuation process.
    The Opportunity:
  • The role will demand full cooperation and interaction with Country offices, all internal upstream and downstream teams as well as client management and business development. This involves ensuring that all deliverables agreed in client service level documents are delivered against plan. The role is further expected to;
  • Promote and enhance consistent practices across end-to-end flows on for various business units and teams
  • Identify commonalities in business processes in functional areas and aim to standardizing them
  • Provide regular MI to management team on consumption of processes

What you’ll do: 

  • Maintain and enhance the reputation of MSS for service delivery through effective and continual inter-action with key clients, technical input and feedback, deployment and co-ordination of all staff involved in the delivery of client service
  • Ensure that all services provided to clients are appropriately positioned and executed and follow up with operational departments where the service levels do not meet expectations
  • Work with the upstream processes to manage the quality of service delivery by MSS
  • Monitor and complete KPIs to be used in driving client service and service quality improvements
  • Seek continued year on year improvement on client service KPIs and client feedback
  • Monitor service quality feedback from clients, RMs and Operations against internal and external SLA agreements, ensuring effective follow-up to drive service quality issues and required improvements
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with senior operational personnel
  • Undertake regular internal reporting highlighting service trends and efficiency initiatives
  • Document and maintain Service Level Agreements, incorporating client change requests and ensure all changes are correctly logged and agreed at least annually by clients
  • Complete measurable efficiency improvement initiatives

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Supporting Asset Servicing business for multiple jurisdictions
  • Liaise with the team to ensure 100% success rate in adherence to KPI’s by ensuring deadlines are met, SLD’s adhered to, and procedures followed
  • Prompt and accurate reporting

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Typically leading a team, dependent on current BAU footprint and projected growth
  • Will be responsible for managing the team in Colombo who are responsible for Asset Servicing
  • Drive staff development through soft skill training, personal development plans and performance management reviews
  • Reward and recognise service excellence and keep high staff morale by ‘Celebrating Success’

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Assist in migration of more complex activities 
  • Ensure 100% adherence with the MSS FIM in all services provided to client
  • Coordinate communication of incidents and escalating appropriately
  • Manage the successful conclusion of incidents notified
  • Ensure teams are trained to carry out the tasks in scope
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role: 
Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or a professional qualification such as CIMA, CA, ACCA, CPA, etc. (D)
  • Good knowledge in Asset Servicing, investment accounting, investment valuations, financial statements, investment operations (E)

Professional Skills & Experience

  • Candidate will have extensive working experience in the securities industry
  • Knowledge of clients and products across range of securities services
  • Management position with exposure to business partners across multiple geographical locations
  • Management position with exposure to remuneration, performance management, team building and staff development.
  • Fund Administration with experience in Asset Servicing/Custody Operations is preferred
