The Opportunity:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

General Processing

  • To continuously provide high quality processing service to achieve maximum customer satisfaction within the specified PLA’s. Responsible for relationship building and resolving customer inquiries in a professional manner (where applicable). Other responsibilities dependent on process assigned to.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Processing

  • Contributes to the profitability of the business by providing effective support functions including: processing, checking of trades, payments and/or confirmation of Inter-bank/Corporate and E-Treasury transactions.
  • Works well independently, completes assigned tasks in the established timeframe, completes regular assignments without reminders or additional requests.
  • Phone interactions with customers, focusing on resolving their requests promptly with efficiency, accurateness, professionally and courteous manner to promote customer loyalty.
  • Able to be a checker and approving deals where payments would be generated.
  • Identify and escalate potential showstoppers
  • Participates in team meetings, activities, promotes team spirit and cohesiveness.
  • Demonstrates adherence to Core standards and behavior.
  • Contribute to the creation of a supportive work environment driven by people centric values
  • Build professional relationships with colleagues in other areas
  • Exhibit ownership of the business
  • Assists line manager/supervisor with managing day-to-day operations and training peers as needed.
  • Produce MI as required

OTHER INFORMATION (please fill in as relates to process specific tasks)

Pre-settlement & Settlement

  • Confirmations and settlement on all Foreign Exchange transactions, Continuous Linked Settlement(CLS), Non-Deliverable Forward(NDF), Money Market(MM) to be matched and settled in an accurate and timely manner to mitigate settlement and market risk for all Inter-bank, Corporate and E-Treasury transactions. (where applicable)

Post Settlement

  • Investigate all post settlement exceptions for Foreign Exchange and Money Market transactions in a timely and accurate manner (where applicable)
  • Meeting customer service delivery within agreed operating guidelines and the respective currency payment cut-off time and due diligence requirements (eg. Phone confirmation, Reuters/Broker confirmation checking)

Internal Controls

  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Understanding of the FIM requirements and regulatory requirements to ensuring proper controls for processing of deals are adhered to
  • The need to implement the Group Compliance Policy, as applicable to their role.
  • The requirement for each employee to be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with their role and to ensure that all actions during their employment with HSBC take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS TO UNDERTAKE THE ROLE AT A FULLY ACCEPTABLE LEVEL 

Knowledge

  • A post-graduate diploma or degree in any discipline. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations are commensurate with the position

Experience

  • Work experience in Treasury is preferred though not necessary. Experience not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position

Skills

  • Ability to speak and understand English fluently. Ability to speak and understand Cantonese is an added advantage.
  • Ability to write business letters and reports
  • Good conversational/telephone skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge appropriately
  • Ability to understand and interpret numeric data
  • Minimum, basic computer knowledge
  • Flexibility to work shifts
  • Ability to build rapport with and relate to a wide range of people
  • Ability to maintain focus while working with voluminous data
  • Ability to multi task
