To support Business in the spreading the financials in line policies and procedures. The role requires the ability to undertake independently spreading with an in depth understanding of its impact on Rations and CRR, which in turn would impact Bank’s RWA.

The Opportunity:

  • Tracking Work requests received for Spreading from Onshore and Offshore Analysts and prioritizing them depending on the urgency of the review dates.
  • Reading, understanding and analyzing the financial statements (annual reports) and spreading of financial data using Credit Lens.
  • Complete the Financial Summary Chart (FSC) template for the customer based on the spreads.
  • Updating the subjective Questions and Merton PD details.
  • Generate the Overall Score and the Corresponding Customer Risk Rating (CRR) in Wren in order to enable CRR to be recorded in CARM.
  • Generate the requisite set of COR Reports and send it to the requestor.
  • Update MI tool regularly on the work completed.
  • Pick up adhoc requests on priority.
  • Resolve and reply to all queries related to the spreads raised by the Analyst / RM Team.
  • Ensure smooth flow of function by maintaining excellent coordination across sites (Blr & Kol).
  • Pro-actively suggest and design improvements in process workflow, and record exceptional learning and share it with the team where applicable.
  • Adhering strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; reporting weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure that all work is delivered within agreed timeframes and meets the required high quality standard.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant policies and procedures issued by the Group.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and other parts of Global Banking & Markets as required.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with issues raised by external regulators.
  • Need to implement the Group Compliance Policy, as applicable to their role.
  • Need to be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with their role, and to ensure that all actions during their employment with HSBC take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring. Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics (B.Com / M.Com / MBA / PGDM Finance / ICWA / CA) or equivalent. Ideally should have a recognized accountancy qualification. Additional Financial qualifications would be preferred.
  • Good understanding of International Accounting Standards (US GAAP & IFRS), Capital markets and Debt Instruments out of education and/or experience
  • Highly proficient at Excel and Word. Database skills are an advantage. Ability to learn new systems quickly necessary.
  • Excellent English, written and spoken; hard-working; organized; diligent; and above all, a team player.
  • Highly customer oriented and interested in providing top quality customer service

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Credit skills and a detailed understanding of bank credit and risk policy and procedures
  • Good understanding of the Financial Ratios and what impacts them.
