Global Legal plays an important role in protecting the Group’s reputation by helping to future-proof the organisation through robust legal risk and issue advisory. Responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to senior management and all global businesses and functions, the team offers a diverse range of legal skills, jurisdictional experience, and practice specialisms across all countries and territories in which our businesses operate.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Assistant Manager - Legal.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Provide exceptional secretarial and personal assistance to the CIB Regional Head of Legal and International Markets, anticipating needs and prioritising tasks with critical thinking and solutions
  • Provide project management assistance to the CIB Regional Head of Legal and International Markets, ensuring timely and efficient execution of projects
  • Support legal transformation initiatives and manage financial and headcount plans
  • Prepare correspondence, maintain records and reports, and facilitate internal communications
  • Direct enquiries to appropriate management team members
  • Handle event logistics, including calendars, meetings, and presentations, and coordinate travel and accommodation
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, keeping track of action items
  • Suggest improvements to current workflows to enhance efficiency
Requirements

To be successful you will need:

  • Graduate in any field: Your experience in a Legal department is a bonus
  • HSBC Group Insight: Your familiarity with its culture, policies, and procedures is beneficial. Your ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters at the highest level is critical
  • Communication Skills: You possess strong English and Cantonese proficiency, with excellent interpersonal skills for engaging senior stakeholders
  • Global Collaboration: You have experience working with colleagues across all levels in a multinational company or global bank
  • Tech Savvy: You are skilled in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and are capable of creating initial draft presentations
  • Proactive and Detail-Oriented: You manage priorities effectively under pressure and handle confidential matters with attention to detail
