What you’ll do:

  • We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of “Senior Business Analyst– Global HUB and Core Banking Support”
  • To analyze the business requirements, evaluate feasibility and propose the best solutions or alternatives and provide end to end Pre and post HUB & core banking system production support.
  • Also, successful candidate is required to carry out HUB & Core banking system Manager tasks, Investigations Support and Data Extraction support for its stakeholders globally depending on the module allocated.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

Principal Accountabilities

Impact on the Business/Function

  • Ensure compliance with HSBC Group company policies and procedures, including regulatory requirements. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply within Sri Lanka and in relation to the countries migrating work with the GSC.
  • Usage of SQL, SAS I series applications to extract the data from the HUB system and share the reports as per Business requirements.
  • Investigate and respond to HUB user problems, manage set up of HUB parameters in HUB, maintain standing data (SD) tables to ensure expected results from HUB to support business requirements.
  • Conduct System Acceptance Testing (SAT), raise defects and ensure system stability prior to UAT
  • Assist the Business Analysts during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), with defect resolution and attending to system related queries from business
  • Act as a cohesive unit with the Business Analysts to ensure that projects are delivered on a timely and professional manner
  • Proactively update and enhance HUB knowledge of team and users by effective contribution via HUB forums and HUB net

Customers / Stakeholders

  • To provide excellent customer service by ensuring the responses are accurate, meaningful and contain relevant and constructive information; assisting in establishing robust processes and that these processes operate efficiently and effectively, while maintaining the agreed SLA/PLA.
  • To assume responsibility for the relevant process/function and operational integrity of the team by ensuring that all operations are handled in accordance with procedures and that the Management Team fully understands the operational and financial risks associated with the service provided.
  • Proactively follow up to understand record and distribute (via communication tools) knowledge on local level differences (local PPCR’s/amendments etc) issues.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction levels are met and recommend action plans to improve satisfaction levels. Ensure effective and appropriate updating of MI, which fully and accurately represents achievement of key business deliverables.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Maintain agreed levels for productivity, quality and learning curve with business units.
  • Ensure that issues/problems are fully analyzed and resolved within reasonable time scales. Appropriate action is taken to prevent recurrence where necessary. Major issues identified and recorded / reported appropriately.
  • By effective communication with superiors and peers, ensure that optimum use of resource is made across GHCS and contribute to achieve an effective cross functional -training plan.

 

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Min 2 – 3 years of working experience of Group’s Core Banking and Peripheral Applications, more specific to HUB, CARM, RPS etc. environment (E)
  • Ability to maintain control, direction, and motivation in an ever-changing environment. (E)
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management and Governance skills to manage the Relationship Manager responsibility (E)
  • Self driven and self-motivated in an ever-changing environment.  (E)
  • Out of the box thinking and Proven team player (E)
  • Quick learner and ability to transfer knowledge to colleagues (E)
  • Excellent business Writing skills (E)
  • Ability to understand and follow Group risk management policies
