We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Business Management and Control Manager.


Role Purpose:

Business Management and Control Manager is responsible for driving the optimization and continuous improvement of business performance across all teams within GPS Philippines. This role involves working closely with the Country Head of GSP in analyzing data, identifying performance gaps, developing strategies to improve efficiency, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, the jobholder is responsible for overseeing the identification, assessment, and management of risks within GPS Philippines, ensuring effective control measures are in place to mitigate potential threats.

Principal Accountabilities:

Business Management

Analyzing data and MI relevant to monitoring the monthly, quarterly and annual performance of GPS business, presenting MI report for country head of GPS, closely working with Head of GPS to not only monitor but to identify revenue/cost gaps in the business drive and undertake strategic initiatives to own and collaborate with GPS senior stakeholders to track and effectively nudge the business forward.

  1. Performance Analysis: Regularly analyze business performance data, including KPIs, financial metrics, and operational outcomes, to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. 
  2. Strategic Planning: Work with Head of GPS and the leadership team locally and regionally to develop and implement business strategies that enhance overall performance, growth, and profitability. 
  3. Reporting: Create and maintain periodic reports to communicate business performance results to Head of GPS. 
  4. Cross – Functional Collaboration: Partner with various stakeholders such as Local Finance, GPS Operations, WSB and ASP Business Management Team to align performance improvement initiatives and ensure successful execution. 

Risk Management

Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to business performance, ensuring minimal impact on operations and long-term goals.

  1. Risk Identification and Assessment: Identify and evaluate risks across all areas of organization (financial, operational, strategic and compliance) and ensure comprehensive risk assessments are conducted. 
  2. Risk Control Framework: Implement and maintain an effective risk management and internal control framework to mitigate risks and protect organizational assets and reputation. 
  3. Control Design and Implementation: Work with various stakeholders to design and implement control measures that align with regulatory requirements and best practices to reduce exposure to risk. 
  4. Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor the effectiveness of internal controls and risk mitigation strategies, reporting findings to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  5. Incident Management: Oversee the investigation of risk events and control failures. Lead root-cause analyses, develop corrective actions, and ensure effective implementation of solutions to prevent recurrence.

Leadership & Teamwork 

  1. Contribute to the promotion of an overall culture of operational, regulatory and financial crime compliance within the workplace.
  2. Undertake the role of effectively supporting the Head of GPS and leading the team towards achieving the business target as well as mitigating risks.
  3. Maintain a personal standard of excellence and set an example of model behaviour to other staff.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

  • Business Management: Strong knowledge of performance measurement frameworks, KPIs, and data analysis techniques. Strong understanding of business processes, operations, and financial analysis. 
  • Risk Management: Strong understanding of risk management principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
