The Opportunity

  • The CSEM process enables Global Businesses and Functions to assess whether a relationship with Customers and non-Customers (including their transactions) fall within HSBC’s risk appetite and whether the relationship can be managed in compliance with the minimum control requirements outlined within the Global Financial Crime Policy.

What you’ll do:

  • Customer Selection Exit Management is a 4-Stage case management process managed by the Customer Selection Secretariate.

  • Trigger: Basically, the Triggers are received from the different secretariat to the UCM CS application, where its contains the customer possess of risk to bank along with the Risk classification Trigger Risk Category

  • Build the case: Build the case is the step where the customers all relationship is identified across the HSBC that spans multiple LoBs, jurisdictions, entities or brands, and/or has a relationship with connected parties that are also HSBC customers/Third Party’s. from the core Banking system and update in the form the BTC Template same updates in UCM.

  • Decision: Decision making forum will use information from Trigger and BTC to make decisions on whether to exit or retain relationships.

  • Exit Execution: Execution is the final phase of the CSEM process, The Execution process involves compiling the list of activities necessary to action the decision; then notifying, monitoring and tracking the Execution Partners responsible for carrying out the activities to ensure they are completed as per the Decision-making forum’s instruction, or as and when required.

  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth off boarding of customer while minimizing reputational and operational risk.

  • Follow appropriate escalation matrix and proactively highlight questionable profiles based on logical reasoning against text-book approach towards procedures.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any stream

  • Good Communication skills – Written and Verbal

  • Eye for detail – The incumbent is expected to complete the E2E customer due diligence review for a customer profile (including customer outreach) by partnering with different teams like the Quality team, Process advisory team, FCC, Relationship Mangers as appropriate to identify any financial crime risk exposure.

  • Ability to meet committed deadlines to remediate the assigned customer portfolio in line with the agreed book of work (BOW) in a challenging environment.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving and changing priorities. Procedures change frequently; selected candidates are expected to implement the changes immediately with minimal re-training.

  • Ability to identify gaps in the process and recommend changes to streamline the process

  • Is self-motivated to achieve quality and production targets in line with the department/individual goals

  • Willing to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel – Ability to create reports and interpret data

  • Knowledge of WPB KYC Ops (Essential)

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Strong keyboard skills

  • Computer literacy (word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheets and database applications).

  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
