We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Collateral Services Associate.

The scope of the existing Collateral Service group has expanded globally into an enterprise model encompassing all aspects of collateral. The Collateral team is responsible for direct interaction with clients in regard to the issuance, receipt and settlement of all margin related activity for OTC derivatives, REPO and Prime Brokerage, while maintaining a high standard of client service at all times.

The candidate will work within a senior team of 5 in London, in partnership with a wider team located in our Global Service Centres in Manila and Kuala Lumpur. The candidate should have strong Operational risk and client management experience.

In this role you will:

•    Be accountable for the support of Equity Prime clients, FX Prime clients, OTC and REPO clients and be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of margin calls, interaction with internal stakeholders, ensuring credit and market risk is effectively mitigated, whilst providing a maximum level of client service.
•    Escalate all disputes and default situations through the appropriate reporting lines whilst developing key relationships with other support functions as well as Front Office teams across HSBC.
•    Expedite resolution of all disputes with counterparts, investigating haircuts and MTM differences in an efficient manner and produce monthly MI using internal systems and basic excel.
•    Review client queries and respond in a timely manner and ensure procedures are maintained and appropriate controls are  followed to eliminate operational and counterparty credit risk
•    Attend client reviews and meetings as required

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Proven background in Investment Banking / Financial Services environment with experience in Collateral Management being essential
•    Excellent knowledge of OTC derivative products, Equities, FX and Bonds coupled with very strong client service skills is paramount
•    Previous exposure to working in a supervisory capacity and/or having oversight for BAU processes
•    Articulate with excellent problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships across the business and externally
