We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) 

Key responsibilities:

  • The role holder is expected to spearhead deal origination and engage in strategic discussions with our clients on capital structuring and fund-raising options
  • This role will entail identifying potential acquisition opportunities, financing opportunities, complex lending solutions, capital market transactions (debt and equity), bespoke transactions and devising strategies to advise clients on strategic transactions and its funding in the most efficient manner

  • The role holder must have strong credit skills and knowledge of various financing solutions (domestic and international, equity and debt) that would meet the client’s funding objective. Role holder must be able to straddle the entire suite of CMA products that the bank can offer/ arrange/ facilitate and be product agnostic and solution driven

  • The role is expected to work on one hand with the relationship management team in early identification of opportunities and bringing in the specialist knowledge from CMA to structure complex transactions. On the other hand, work very closely with colleagues in CMA to ideate and deliver strategic financing solutions to our clients
  • The role holder is expected to build strong relationships with c-suite of our clients over time and become a trusted advisor
  • The role holder is expected to make strategic pitches for Senior Leadership meetings (CEO and HD Banking) with the client
  • The role holder must demonstrate an ability to engage clients on the strategic direction of their businesses, both personally and using senior HSBC stakeholders
  • Act as an effective partner to coverage teams through regular meeting to understand emerging themes and needs; providing substantive input to the client planning and subsequent pitching processes

 

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum of fifteen years proven and progressive corporate banking experience or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance landscape
  • Strong credit skills and credit training
  • Strong background in customer facing roles; have a demonstrated track record of managing customer relationships and collaborating with product partners
  • Deep expertise in the Indian markets, understanding of market trends, regulatory environment, and market intelligence
  • Strong organisational, analytical, negotiation, communication, teamwork and influencing skills
  • Extensive knowledge and proven sales success with the Bank’s products and services, or equivalent
  • Strong relationships in the financial sponsor/ corporate banking ecosystem
  • Ability to work collaboratively across internal and external stake holders

Desired

  • Master’s degree in business, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of local operating markets and their corresponding span(s) of control within assigned country
  • Experience of driving strategic change in a matrix environment
  • Extensive product knowledge of Corporate Banking 

Eligibility :

  • India Bank / INM employees will be eligible to apply to this role after completion of 12 months in the current role/position at the time of application on level transfer and/or promotion.
  • Entity Employees (not from India Bank) to be guided by their internal policy on tenure completion in current role at the time of application before applying and share line manager approval once shortlisted
