Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB)
HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking is a markets-led, financing-focused business that provides investment and financial solutions. Our products and services include advisory, financing, prime services, research and analysis, securities services, trading and sales and transaction banking.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
· Drive execution of sustainability commercialisation strategy including fast-growing transition ecosystems opportunities, with a focus on clean power, electrification of transport, data centres and AI. The primary measure of success will be growth of total client revenue of the ecosystem
· Lead internal alignment and coordination across CIB working with banking, product, Group Sustainability and functions.
· Create and lead RM/ product clusters in partnership with Banking and products in China.
· Lead coordination with credit risk to articulate the required credit appetite to grow the ecosystem
· Establish business performance baseline and key success measures. Implement mechanism to track short term and long-term goals.
· Lead and execute sales and frontline enablement activities across CIB:
u Conduct competitor analysis to understand external landscape and the opportunity
u Inform global sustainability sector content development and pitch deck development
u Inform product & proposition development for the ecosystem
u Lead mapping exercise to understand the commercial opportunities in the project ecosystem and establish a process to execute on the opportunities
u Work with GNB to map unbanked subsidiaries and deepen wallet of existing
l Client engagement:
u Together with GRB team, originate and execute opportunities to grow revenues in the ecosystem
u Lead structuring of innovative solutions (risk transfer, treasury solutions and proposition to address ecosystem needs)
u Marketing and communication: work with marketing and communication partners to promote HSBC’s efforts in this space including participating and speaking in industry events.
l Lead Sustainability and Transition coverage for CIB priority clients in China:
u Client planning: Work with GRBs on client planning leading the SFT component of the client plan
u Strategic Transition Engagement: Manage policies, financed emissions, transition engagement questionnaire and transition plan assessments along with coverage team
u Develop client sustainability insights, Pitch propositions bringing along ESG product partners where relevant
u Originate sustainable finance across all products and lead structuring and execution of sustainable finance deals for loans
u Support origination of non-sustainable finance labelled products through strategic sustainability dialogue
u Develop relationship with individuals responsible for sustainability agenda at client (CSO, COO, Innovation teams, investment teams)
u Connect clients to relevant partners and climate tech providers
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
· Experience in front-line client facing roles
· Strong knowledge of transaction banking, lending products and capital markets solutions and proven track record in originating banking opportunities working closely with product partners
· Strong credit knowledge and experience with originating and structuring financing transactions
· Experience with originating, structuring, and executing sustainable finance labelled products
· Experience of building strong relationships with first line and second line Risk partners and functions
· Experience in commercializing proposition from ideation to go to market strategies
· Experience of creating a ‘one team’ approach to bringing people together to drive outcomes and organizational change
· Demonstrate success to lead cross- functional initiatives by identifying and prioritizing opportunities and driving through execution at pace whilst setting and handling realistic expectations
· Proven track record of flexibility and resourcefulness in fluid environments of constantly evolving priorities, challenging bureaucracy and staying true to the values and strategy of the Group
· Demonstrate strong work diligence and accountability by consistently following through on client requests, ensuring timely and accurate execution of deliverables, and maintain clear, proactive communication throughout
