Communications for Businesses and Markets (CBAM) is part of our People, Governance and Communications (PG&C) structure. This team designs and implements communications strategies to support HSBC’s business objectives in line with our values, and enhance / protect our reputation among key stakeholders.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an External Communications Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

• Promote Private Banking and Wealth and Premier Solutions in the media and social media throughout Asia and support strategic communications initiatives around the world
• Build and nurture relationships with top-tier journalists, commentators and influencers
• Identify and manage reputational risks, working closely with teams across markets
• Develop and curate a library of messaging assets – from Q&A documents and case studies to imagery and other digital materials
• Influence outcomes through strong stakeholder management and clear, confident communication
• Track, analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of your communications activity to inform future campaigns

To be successful you will need

• Experience of promoting a global business, with a strong track record in securing earned media and producing standout multimedia content, particularly for LinkedIn
• First-rate writing and editorial skills, developed in journalism or communications
• Proven ability to plan and execute communications strategies, including the use of grids and calendars to manage complex activity
• Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, with confidence working across time zones and with senior leaders
• A cool head under pressure, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-moving environment
