The Opportunity:

Role purpose:

  • Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) roles are responsible for safeguarding HSBC against acts of bribery and/or corruption and ensuring the organization’s compliance to ABC policies. This will involve carrying out Level 1 investigations within the ABC Ops Utility and supporting the operational approach for identifying and mitigating Employee and Third-party related AB&C Risks. The objective of the analysis is to identify sufficient evidence to either.
  • Negate the alert so it can be closed with confidence.
  • Escalate the alert where cautionary flag criteria have been met or anomalous behavior cannot be explained or negated.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities: -

Impact on Business/Function:

  • Support ABC alert management with adherence to processes and standards.
  • Monitor ABC entries for unusual activity and escalate as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and build knowledge of ABC trends.
  • Achieve productivity and quality targets.

Customers/Stakeholders:

  • Demonstrate process knowledge and implement defect-free updates.
  • Improve stakeholder engagement and productivity.
  • Ensure effective communication across all levels when handling ABC cases.
  • Provide accurate MI in a timely manner.

Operational Effectiveness & Control:

  • Mitigate operational risks and address concerns with line management.
  • Continuously assess operational risks considering changing conditions and requirements.

Leadership & Teamwork: -

  • Acquire and share best practices relating to procedures / latest Anti-Bribery & Corruption trends to relevant processes.
  • Proactive sharing of learnings / experiences on cases with the team so as to impart a better insight for reasoned judgment.

Functional Knowledge: -

  • Using their business and operational knowledge to actively seek out and explore information to ensure a full understanding of the facts.
  • Possessing and applying appropriate qualitative and quantitative techniques to effectively prioritize and communicate key issues and outcomes through appropriate documentation and reporting.

  • Critical thinking, attention to detail, and advanced communication
  • Understanding of ABC policy, red flags, schemes, and trends
