Global Finance Operations Centre (GFOC) provides a variety of financial support services to business partners over the HSBC Group. As part of the Financial reporting team, we are primarily responsible for consolidation, analytical reviews, leading up to the preparation of the regional financial statements.
The incumbent will be part of the HBCE Financial Reporting (FR) process for HBCE Reporting Operations at GFOC. The role will be responsible for managing the new reporting developments, analysing issues/errors impacting HBCE financial statements and creation of IAS 8/regulatory assessment paper thereon, the entire ambit of analytical reviews, Group submissions, stakeholders packs, review of HBCE financial statements/other submissions for external stakeholders including regulatory authorities across IFRS and FINREP, managing the WDESK production for the Interim/Annual Report, as well as supporting the Head of Financial Reporting in various transformation projects and ensuring the strong control framework for HBCE Financial reporting team

What you’ll do
    • Support to ensure HBCE complies with the IFRS/FINREP reporting requirements.
    • Ensure monthly and quarterly reporting are completed as per agreed timelines and with right quality.
    • Review of key FR deliverables to ensure completeness, appropriate inputs and processes are in place. Review of accounting and reporting issues including creation of IAS 8/regulatory assessment papers summarising their impact to financial statement, processes, controls etc.
    • Perform analytical review and provide assurance on the quality and accuracy of data to be used for preparation and publication of Financial Statements and associated disclosures. The process involves performing appropriate analysis and logical checks to ensure there is reasonableness and consistency in data submissions, as also to identify any material errors and omissions.
    • Support in the HBCE Reporting issues and collaborating with Financial Accounting, CIA, Credit Risk, Business and Group FR teams. Topical deep dives to assess impact of structural and accounting changes impacting IFRS/FINREP disclosures and incorporate same into FR Delivery.
    • Support the Reporting leads in the various Transformation projects, ensuring milestones are delivered. Prepare papers and proposals for review with Head of FR.
    • Interface with external, internal auditors and data assurance (BRCM). Ensure a robust control environment through controls and design efficacy of CMPs. 
    • Continuous review and enhancing controls to meet the requirements of Global Finance FIM, Internal Control and Objectives.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Finance Qualification with 8+ years of work experience. 
    • Financial Reporting work experience under EBA/IFRS/GAAPs.
    • Change management, analytical Reviews experience.
    • Working experience on Wdesk and Saracen would be an added advantage. 
    • Ability to interpret IFRS statutes/ policy guidance to practical application.
    • Ability to understand and implement EBA requirements.
    • Ability to assess impact of accounting issues / Legal structure changes/ Acquisitions and Disposals/ System changes on the FR processes of consolidation.

The pay range for this role is 14 308 – 21 458 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
