Your career opportunity
The individual will be part of Group Finance Non-Financial Risk (NFR) team, responsible for providing oversight and delivery of the NFR Framework and Governance for Finance across key sites and sub-Functions within Finance. The role’s will provide oversight and guidance over risks and controls relevant to SOX compliance in order to ensure that there is a suitable framework to maintain a robust control environment.
What you’ll do
- Ensure compliance with the COSO framework to support HSBC’s compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements (in coordination with Group and PwC).
- Perform SOX scoping in accordance with Finance requirements and as per Group / HCIB instructions.
- Working closely with the Assurance team to complete annual walkthrough process reviews and testing of SOX in scope processes (as per FIM guidelines), to assess the design and operating effectiveness of SOX controls. Perform Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) challenge and oversight activities, including challenging Risk and Control Owners regarding risk and control management and monitoring, including inherent risk, residual risk, control effectiveness, issues, actions and events.
- Oversee and perform SOX assessment, remediation and closure of issues and actions (including SOX deficiencies). Maintain regular communication with functions/businesses (Risk/GFC/Finance/INA/other) to identify any potential issue that could lead to a SOX deficiency. Ensure all deficiencies are recorded in HELIOS on a timely basis. Perform deficiency aggregation as per Group instructions.
- Ensure that all SOX End User Computing applications are identified and controls in place are in line with FIM requirements. Work closely with Business Information Risk Officer (BIRO).
- Support delivery of project activity to improve the control environment. Prepare reporting for relevant governance committees (e.g. Group Disclosure Committee and Group Audit Committee.
- Identify and deliver any SOX training requirements. Working with the Finance and non-Finance stakeholders globally to develop best-in-class materials, communicating the requirements to all regions and functions; supporting them in enhancing their documentation, risk awareness and capabilities.
- Provide Quality Assurance and oversight on the governance reporting. Undertaking ad hoc project management, execution and analysis work requested by line management.
- Exceptional drive, commitment and focus in operational excellence. Thorough knowledge of Financial Reporting Risk and SOX compliance procedures.
- Relevant Finance and Control knowledge and experience working in multiple legal entities. Good understanding of the Finance operating model at Group, Business and Country levels.
- Proved experience leading, implementing and/or improving end-to-end processes. Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in a complex global environment. Good understanding of HSBC’s activities, products, processes and systems.
- Experience of working with Operational Risk, Internal and External Audit. Excellent business writing skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Relevant accounting qualifications. Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) and/or an undergraduate degree
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple and competing priorities.
- Thorough understanding of HSBC’s activities, products, processes and systems (preferable)
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 19 175 PLN – 28 758 PLN (monthly, gross).
Additional car allowance in the amount of 4620 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
