Financial Crime IT department is responsible for identifying, analysing and investigating financial crime risks, and ensuring that these risks are properly mitigated within HSBC. The Detection - Customer Monitoring Sub-Value-Stream (SVS) aims to find Financial Crime Risk faster and with less noise, meaning fewer false positives. DRA is the strategic Compliance system for Transaction Monitoring which uses advanced Machine Learning techniques to achieve this, while running in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer with expertise in developing Cloud-based solutions using Python, SQL, Terraform, Docker and more to support full development lifecycle of the DRA project.

• Work as a developer within the DRA team to support end-to-end software development lifecycle

• Support existing DRA services and processes - solving issues, implementing automation, improve services, reduce technical debt and more

• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and complete development, testing and deployment of the solution

• Collaborate with DevOps, Data and Backend Engineers being part of the scrum team to achieve the project goals

• Ensure that Agile and DevOps practices are followed within the team

• Ensure technical standards and coding practices are followed in the deliveries

• 2+ years of experience in designing, developing and operating Cloud based applications and processes

• Strong knowledge and hands on experience with Python, SQL, Terraform, Jenkins, Docker and GIT

• Solid understanding of data engineering, analysis and management concepts (ETL)

• Knowledge of Bash & Unix

• A proven track record of successful delivery of large-scale projects 

• Ability to work with business and translate functional requirements into technical solutions

• Ability to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems, learning new technologies as well as business domain

• Practical experience with Cloud (GCP preferrable) and BigQuery 

• Ability to implement CI/CD solutions in Cloud

• Experience with the security concepts – IAM roles, service accounts, entitlements, code & container scans
