We have a unique opportunity for you to join our team and lead software engineering activities in our core AI applications. Chief Technology Office is part of the Group Data Strategy, with a goal to transform the way we govern, managed and use all our data to its full potential across HSBC. Your expertise will also help us unlocking new insights, enhancing decision-making processes, and creating innovative solutions that drive efficiency and value for our colleagues, clients, and the broader organization.
What you’ll do
As a Lead Software Engineer in team, you will be responsible for:
- building and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and secure systems to support AI initiatives within the bank.
- leverage expertise in Python, FastApi, Kubernetes, MicroService architecture, different types of databases to deliver robust solutions
- ensure platform remains fast, reliable, and compliant with the highest standards in the financial technology industry.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Communication skills - to be able to work between technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as facilitate discussions within a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of the impact of emerging trends in AI/GenAI area.
- Problem-solving skills as well as ability to implement preventing actions
- Technical understanding of core technical concepts related to the role and can apply them with guidance.
- Ability to review requirements, specifications and define test conditions.
- Experience in Python (FastAPI), microservices, MongoDB, Vector stores, Hadoop, Starburst (Data Virtualization), PostgreSQL, GCP Big Query, Google Cloud Platform, Azure Cloud, Google ADK, Memory stores, RAGs, Context Engineering, Evaluation systems, LangChain, LangGraph
