Asset Services is responsible for end to end processing of various CA events. Process covers announcement, reconciliation, instruction management, submission and payment of distribution to clients. Corporate Event such as Proxy Voting, income distribution including and not limited to Cash dividend, Interest & Redemption for Fixed income securities.

  • Learn various types Corporate Events and securities in certain market
  • Experience end to end process of CA event in various Custody platform
  • Be engage with various stakeholders including liaising with Company Share Registrar, Depository and direct clients

The Opportunity: 

Manager is responsible to support daily production, provide expertise and act as focal point of escalation- to ensure team achieve targets of timeliness, accuracy and quality of work through monitoring of workloads and completion of appropriate controls within Asset Services.

To escalate to Sr. Management any matters of risk, compliance breaches and other matters of concern identified during the course of their daily work. The jobholder must ensure adherence and adoption of standards and best practice in order to minimize operational and / or financial risk and provide excellent client service.

In the absence of the AVP there is little support locally and the jobholder has to rely on his / her experience of the business in the first instance or contact the AVP/VP.


What you’ll do: 

  • Acquire a broad understanding of Corporate Action processes to provide production support, perform quality checks and provide expertise through handling of complex work items and escalation that require resolution.
  • Lead continuous improvement of process and operations to create capacity, including development of team through delivery of process training.
  • Develop internal and external relationships to support Asset Servicing program, improve client service and/or reduce operation/client risk
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements by performing audit checks as required by process in line with business process requirements.
  • Provide leadership to team consistent with Group and Company policies and standards by leading a cohesive team, working in a supportive team environment driven by people centric values.
  • Motivate and to ensure effective development of individuals to meet business targets.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Knowledge
  • A post-graduate diploma or degree in any discipline. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position

Experience
  • Relevant experience in a Securities Services preferably related to Asset Services
  • Experience working in project related environment, through lean six sigma or agile approach. 
  • Preferably with at least 12 months related supervisory role, with experience in handling escalation, managing clients and operation with fast paced environment and tight SLAs.

Skills
  • Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong leadership skills evidenced by achievement of objectives together with a track record of development of individuals with strong organization and planning skills along with the ability to handle capacity and MI reporting
  • Ability to build and maintain relations with business units and continuously give feedback by stringent follow up on service level agreements
  • Evidence of strong analytical, statistical and data mining skills to study trends, make projections and to interpret numeric information. 
  • Evidence of strong operational decision making and be able to provide analytical support to the teams 
  • Evidence of process management skills with an ability to initiate process improvements 
  • Demonstrates strong awareness / ability to recognize and effectively contain financial and operational risk.
  • Able to work in pressurized environment and manage priorities effectively.
  • Dedicated approach to teamwork and ability to contribute to team effort.
  • Customer focused & committed to providing a high quality service.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good planning, organization & time management skills.


What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Possess relevant Securities background and knowledge - at least 18 months of Securities experience.
  • Those who have IOC qualifications will have an advantage.
