Your career opportunity
In today’s digital world, HSBC needs to continuously develop innovative ways for customers to interact with our products and services. We’re building new technology and enhancing existing platforms to make the most of emerging trends, improving customer experience while strengthening security and resilience.
This role sits within the Digital Authentication and Identification Value Stream in IWPB, responsible for a suite of authentication and verification journeys that support millions of customers each year across multiple countries and journeys. A key product is our global Digital Identity Validation & Authentication (DIVA) platform, which enables markets to verify a person’s identity. We combine leading third-party vendor capabilities with internally built features to deliver real-time identity verification and anti-impersonation checks within digital journeys.
DIVA enables customers to capture government-issued identity documents (passport, driving license, national ID) and verifies document authenticity, combined with digital anti-impersonation checks (e.g., selfie-based verification). The platform is live across multiple markets and used at scale across a range of journeys. The roadmap is focused on data-driven optimization, new feature development, improving effectiveness and resilience, and expanding adoption to additional HSBC markets.

What you’ll do
Own and drive the DIVA product vision, multi-year strategy, and roadmap aligned to customer, business, and market outcomes.
Shape opportunities with stakeholders into prioritised initiatives and clear business cases, including costs, benefits, risks, and success metrics.
Translate business priorities into epics and features with measurable value, acceptance criteria, and delivery milestones.
Optimise end-to-end identity verification journeys to improve completion and pass rates while minimising customer friction.
Use data insights such as funnel analytics, error codes, and voice of customer to diagnose drop-offs and drive iterative improvements.
Lead cross-functional agile squads across engineering, UX, data, and QA to deliver outcomes and ensure release readiness.
Manage dependencies across platforms and downstream journeys consuming DIVA capabilities across markets.
Ensure controls-by-design by partnering with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and other control functions, and provide clear governance reporting on performance and incidents.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
Proven experience as a Digital Product Manager or Product Owner delivering customer-facing products at scale.
Strong knowledge of digital identity verification, authentication, or fraud and risk controls within financial services or another regulated industry.
Demonstrated ability to make product decisions using data, including funnel performance, conversion, and operational metrics.
Experience leading cross-functional delivery teams and navigating complex stakeholder and governance environments.
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear product requirements, decision papers, and governance updates.
Solid understanding of secure, compliant product delivery, including privacy, security, and regulatory expectations.
Experience managing product delivery across multiple markets, balancing localisation needs and regulatory variation
Ability to drive measurable outcomes such as improved pass rates, reduced fraud, increased resilience, and better customer experience through disciplined product management.
