We are seeking a highly qualified and skilled IT Business Analyst to join our HSBC data management team.
The prime responsibility of you as the IT Business Analyst role holder will be to identify and document the business and system requirements for AI based solution. You will work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to elicit requirements, clarify doubts, and capture information related to business processes and systems.
You will then translate this information into detailed data models, diagrams, user stories, functional and non-functional requirements and specifications that can be used by developers to build systems and data management platforms.
In this role, you will collaborate with software engineers, project managers, architects, and other stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure that requirements are well-understood, documented, and validated at each stage of the development process. You will also be responsible for ensuring that data quality and security considerations are adequately addressed within the project scope.
What you’ll do
- Work with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to understand the business processes and requirements for AI solution. Provide support and guidance to project managers, software developers, and other stakeholders in understanding and implementing the data requirements.
- Document and formalize the business requirements using industry-standard methodologies and tools.
- Identify requirements and its specifications that accurately reflect the business needs and support the underlying processes. Ensure that the requirements are adequately documented, validated, and communicated across the project team and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with software developers and architects to ensure that the architecture and software designs align with the business requirements and goals.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to uncertainty, redundant process steps, data quality issues, data security, noncompliance with regulations, and privacy considerations.
- Work with governance committees to ensure that enterprise policies, standards, and guidelines are adhered to.
- Participate in testing and validation activities to ensure that the requirements are met, and the systems function as intended. Defines user acceptance tests.
- Continuously monitor and assess the different types of requirements and design to ensure that they remain aligned with the evolving business needs and goals
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- At least 5 years of experience in IT Business Analyst role in software delivery. Practical experience of the Agile change lifecycle and the BA role within it.
- Experience with working in cross-skilled delivery teams (working collaboratively with UX, Devs, Test and delivery) and ability to work independently.
- Experience in capturing, analysing and documenting functional & non-functional requirements.
- Experience in prototyping or rapid application development or iterative development.
- Proficiency in exploring and understanding requirements and data in order to deduce, propose or enhance business processes, with an ability to effectively link data insights to relevant business and functional requirements.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies, like Scrum or Kanban to manage projects activities. Preferably in conjunction with Familiarity with the related concepts and processes such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups, user stories, acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholder.
- Knowledge of Microservices architecture.
- Experience and understanding of AI based solutions.
- Familiarity with banking and Financial services industry-specific processes.
- Good understanding of BDD an approach that emphasizes the behaviour of an application for business needs.
- Good knowledge of SDLC and formal Agile processes, a bias towards TDD and a willingness to test products as part of the delivery cycle SIT, UAT and Production Support.
- Familiarity with SQL and other programming languages such as Python, R.
