We are offering a distinctive opportunity to join the CTO Third Party Risk Management Team.
In this role, you will support the CTO Third Party Risk Officer as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for third-party risk and management initiatives. Acting as a strategic interface between stakeholders and control functions, you will champion risk-informed decision-making across the CTO organisation. You will help embed a culture of operational resilience and risk awareness while ensuring alignment with the HSBC Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) framework.
You will also guide a team of Third-Party Risk Managers in executing the global Technology Third Party Risk Governance strategy, ensuring consistent, efficient, and timely implementation across the CTO landscape.
What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for third-party risk management activities across all CTO entities, in close collaboration with the CTO Third Party Risk Officer.
- Drive implementation and continuous improvement of third-party risk governance by embedding global TPRM policies and procedures, and ensuring adherence by Risk Owners and Third Party Engagement Managers.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex, cross-risk, and cross-functional third-party issues where consensus cannot be achieved, escalating to the CTO TPRO or Global TPRO as required.
- Proactively engage and influence senior stakeholders across CTO to promote a strong risk culture and operational excellence. Support and guide Engagement Managers, Case Managers, and Vendors during cyclical risk processes, such as: Third-Party Risk Assessments; Cybersecurity Risk Reviews; Business Continuity and Resilience Reviews; Exit and Subcontractor Risk Evaluations, etc.
- Analyse risk intelligence, management information, and dashboards generated by global teams. Translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership and liaise and collaborate with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective oversight, and remediations including: Operations Executives and Regional Governance Forums; CTO Senior Leadership and Operational Risk Executives; Internal and External Audit Teams and Regulatory Bodies; Risk Stewards and Domain Risk Specialists; Business Continuity Coordinators and BCIM Leads; Global Cybersecurity and Technology Control Teams; Global Third Party Management (GTPM) Hub and Tech TPM Programme Office; Strategic Vendors and Managed Service Providers.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Extensive risk & tech background in banking (8+ years).
- Knowledge of HSBC and its regulatory landscape.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic planning & influencing capabilities.
- Experience in matrix organisations and global teams.
- Cultural adaptability in diverse environments.
- Efficient resource management and cost control.
- Excellent relationship & third-party risk management skills.
