We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Global Head of FX Traded Risk.  As the Global Head of FX Traded Risk you will direct the effective identification, assessment, management, monitoring and mitigation of market risk and counterparty credit risk in FX of Global Markets & Securities Services (MSS) businesses. 

You will oversee and lead constructive challenge through detailed understanding of the FX businesses, their strategies, regulation, commercial and risk drivers. The role involves considerable interaction with senior HSBC management and regulators across countries and jurisdictions.

In this role, you will:

•    Act as the key point of contact on all FX traded risk globally and act as an active and engaged member of the Global Traded Risk and its leadership team, supporting the effective management of FX traded risks.
•    Support a team of risk managers (second line of defense). You will be responsible for leading the SLOD activities in traded & treasury risk areas and interpreting regulation in conjunction with other stakeholders.
•    Develop risk management policies, limits, stress testing capabilities, analytics, system support and reporting infrastructure.
•    Monitor risk environment and HSBC risks exposures vs. established limits, investigate risk events.
•    Establish strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, advise and provide constructive challenge to the first line of defense.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Strong knowledge and understanding of derivative markets, Treasury products and relevant traded markets. 
•    Extensive experience working across all levels of the organization to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of risk at both a strategic level and at the business unit level. 
•    Has developed a high level of professional competence which helps to determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management. 
•    Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization, and be able to evidence experience of this. 
•    Strong leadership and management ability including ability to lead change, and to develop and retain critical talent.

The base location for this role is London and with a hybrid working pattern.
