We are currently seeking an individual to join the team as Head of Finance, Private Bank and Wealth UK.

The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the financial strategy, ensuring financial sustainability and the efficient management of financial resources for the PBUK (entity view), the PBUK Market (managed view) and Retail Wealth (product view). The Head of Finance plays a critical role in shaping the strategic direction by providing insightful financial analysis, risk assessment, and strategic planning. The role demands strong leadership, analytical acumen, and a deep understanding of the banking and financial services sector. The Head of Finance is member of all key of management meetings and governance committees, and other senior stakeholder meetings across HBUK, IWPB and GPB. This is a genuine end-to-end business CFO role, being a GPB Exco member and working closely with Exco and the GPB UK CEO, while also working with the front-line teams and other Finance areas (e.g. Treasury) to manage the P&L of the business.  The role also partners the Retail Wealth business in UK and so has a link directly into the UK Segment business as well as the global GPB business. GPB and Wealth are priority areas of the bank for investment, with a high profile, and receiving support and investment from Group and IWPB.  It is a high growth business, and part of the Wealth strategy for HSBC.

In this role, you will: 

•    Advise the CEO and Exco on financial planning, performance, cost management, and risk management.
•    Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
•    Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial resource planning (FRP) processes for the entity and market.
•    Provide financial leadership and partnership to PBUK executive committee, fostering collaboration and shared accountability.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Experience in finance business partnering role.
•    Proven track record in strategic financial management and leadership within matrixed environment.
•    Significant senior stakeholder management.
•    Financial accounting and governance knowledge.
•    Knowledge of private banking and retail banking nice to have.
•    Qualified accountant or QBE.
•    Leadership experience.
