Our key areas of operations include Retail Banking, Product and Wealth Management.

The Head of Product Operations reports directly to the Head of Retail Products, International Wealth and Personal Banking (IWPB) Australia. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and maintenance of product strategy, the management of operational resilience and customer remediation.   This role is integral in delivering HSBC’s ambition to grow its base of main-banked customers, and to make it easy and rewarding for customers to bank with us.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Management of HSBC’s agreed important business services for Wealth & Personal Banking so we can provide these critical services to customers and ensure meet local APRA CPS 230 and UK PRA and FCA regulatory obligations. 
     
  • Management of remediation activities for Wealth and Personal Banking, including resolution of customer remediation, ongoing review and implementation of quality controls to data, customer contact and payment processes.
     
  • Management of a consolidated retail product strategy for HSBC’s Wealth and Personal Banking business, ensuring an effective operating rhythm to meet key deliverables, and the alignment of the Retail Product strategy to Australia and ASP Wealth and Personal Banking strategies.
     
  • Management of the product delivery capability for Retail Products, ensuring the execution and  implementation of strategic initiatives.
     
  • The role holder will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the teams are focused on results and have a strong sense of accountability.
     
  • The role will require thought leadership, collaboration and accountability for managing relationships with key internal and external partners across multiple geographies. Internal relationships include WPB, regional and global banking counterparts, local IT, banking operations and Transformation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance and/or business-related field or related discipline with relevant and strong experience in transformation and governance, having delivered key programs / enhancements which have realised their goals, Global or Regional experience advantageous.
     
  • Product management experience delivering tools where activation/ behavioural changes are required to realise benefits.
     
  • Strong technical comprehension, likely demonstrated by the delivery of complex program with extensive collaboration across a broad set of stakeholders including IT, Operations, Risk, Distribution teams.
     
  • Commercially focussed with experience of contributing to the delivery of impactful strategies within a complex, multi-cultural environment.
     
  • Previous demonstrated experience in working with senior stakeholders including Executive teams and Board
     
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and writing) as well as developed interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate at all levels of an organisation; building engagement and able to present complex information in a structured and balanced manner
     
  • Success in the role depends on working effectively with multiple stakeholders across multiple cultures and geographies. The need to be able to navigate HSBC, influence and build consensus is therefore key. The ideal role holder will have extensive experience in collaborating with multiple markets and cultures to achieve success.
     
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders with varying degrees of knowledge and expertise in the subject.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
