As Head of Risk and Operational Oversight, you will have responsibility for the leadership of back office, quality assurance monitoring, operational control reporting and associated remediation, and customer outcomes testing within a collections and recoveries context, you will advise on the identification of tope and emerging risks, support controls owners in the execution of the continuous control monitoring responsibilities and ensure adherence to the internal event management process to enable timely reporting

In this role you will:

•    Lead the Risk and Operational oversight department; with teams that are responsible for back office oversight, providing quality assurance, executing policy adherence and co-ordinating the management of the CIFD risk.
•    Act as trusted advisor for FST on how to manage their non-financial risk (including risk assessments, control environments, issues management)
•    Manage the promotion of accountable risk and control decision-making based on quality data and commercial analysis
•    Managing efforts to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk, including behaviours
•    Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment
•    Manage the development and implementation of future-fit risk management frameworks
•    Provide leadership in relation to second or third line of defence reviews/audits

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Leadership experience and proven capability to provide a clear strategic direction for the team
•    Good understanding of the UK regulatory framework in relation to treating customers fairly and the debt collection & recovery environments, with a forward thinking approach to anticipate change within the internal and external markets
•    A sound knowledge of the Group and the CMB business, including products, services, systems & processes.
•    Understanding of the risk management policies, operational risk frameworks and the necessity for effective procedural controls
•    Experience working in relevant environments i.e. Commercial Banking or experience working in relevant market/context i.e. Financial Services

This role can be based in Birmingham, Sheffield, Chester or Leeds.
