Within International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB), we serve 41 million customers globally, including 6.7 million who are international, from retail customers to ultra high net worth individuals and their families. This is a senior leadership position with direct accountability to driving the strategy of the business and overseeing the development of key strategic initiatives to realise HSBC strategic priorities. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to scope, structure, and execute special projects that often have executive or board-level visibility and may include strategy development, transformation initiatives, business integration, regulatory responses, operating model changes or business reviews.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Strategy leadership, leading end to end delivery of time critical complex strategic initiatives. Including defining scope, workplans, structure governance and manage milestones.
- Strategic Analysis and problem solving, conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision making.
- Preparing strategic options and recommendations for senior leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of IWPB Australia’s business goals, strategy and priorities over various time horizons
- Supporting the IIWPB Australia Executive team in developing their respective function strategies, as well as providing strategic guidance and support as needed.
- Lead the analysis and recommendation of responses around emerging market, industry and social trends as well as commercial opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions, competitive threats and strategic business opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- This role requires strong senior leadership with deep international experience within HSBC Group, as well as a strong command of both local market dynamics and Group-wide strategy.
- A track record of operating effectively with local market stakeholders, as well as strong working relationships at regional, group and head office level
- The ability to bridge global and local perspectives, executing group strategy while navigating local regulatory, cultural and customer context
- Significant experience in the strategy discipline, with a clear track record of both developing and executing thoughtful strategies to deliver outstanding results
- Strong commercially-minded leader with outstanding relationship building skills and ability to balance strategic focus with tactical implementation/execution in a large matrix environment
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
