CIB D&A has become a one-stop shop for the CIB D&A section of the group’s analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as CIB D&A & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Credit & Lending, IT Infrastructure, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management and analysis.

  • The team based out of multiple locations across the GSCs (India/China/Mexico/Poland) providing analytics, data & insight support to various CIB D&A, CMB/ GB portfolios. Team’s focus is on using logical thought process and relevant statistical techniques and right tools & techniques & productize scaled solutions to analyse product portfolio metrics and risk behaviour to arrive at value-based optimum decisions

  • Business Consulting job family is structured to address end-to-end business needs. Members of this Job Family are differentiated by their capability of providing the required consultation & work with end-business by way of assessing the requirements, identifying the right analytical solution that can solve for the business problem, and developing the same for execution – often covering areas of business growth, improving customer experience, limiting risk exposure, enhancing internal business processes etc. They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach as needed, and retain the flexibility to change track to adopt other solutions based on changed scenarios, in order to deliver on effective results. This talent group can be tapped into for providing solutions for varying areas including improving existing processes, technology and approaches by embedding exploratory & analytics & taking it forward with a consulting mind set.

The Opportunity:

  • Support to develop a consulting culture within team, partner with functional business leaders in developing analytical strategies / decision making to achieve higher value

  • Convert business problem to an analytical problem. Guide a team of individuals to provide solution to the analytical problem for multiple businesses/region

  • Identify business problems/new opportunities to drive higher business value. Diagnose and resolve moderate to complex analytical problems

  • Support innovative analytical thinking & solutions that results into improved business performance

  • End to end project management & hands on delivery when required.

  • Providing high-quality analysis and strategy recommendations to business problems.

  • Manage delivery within agreed timelines and as per agreed quality standards. Also drive business benefit through self-initiated projects

  • Apply analytical skills to extract information from data and translate into business language;

  • Implement best solutions within decision systems, satisfying user requirements;

  • Use of data to improve customer outcomes through the provision of insight and challenge

  • Articulate complex situations and technical work to non-technical stakeholders

  • Drive internal initiatives to attain the objectives of the organization

  • Lead Learning & Development initiatives to attain cutting edge analytical skills

  • Ability to assist team in developing and then achieving its goals

  • Strong decision making ability

Governance and Committee Memberships (membership of ExCos, Risk Management Meeting)

  • The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.

  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

  • Provide end to end analytical support to Global / Regional businesses covering Customer analytics/ Product analytics/ Portfolio analytics etc.

  • Strong business analysis, problem solving, project management skills and reporting skills are essential

  • Manage effective and enduring relationships with various stakeholders to understand, recommend and drive delivery against business agenda

  • Working with and liaising with data analytical teams across multiple functions to share knowledge and best practices

  • Support in analyse and build new used cases and campaigns on customer journeys

  • Manage and work with real time data to generate decisions on prospects, features for ongoing campaigns

  • Manage integration of on premise solutions to the global blueprint

  • Knowledge in Financial services preferred

  • The role holder shall also be expected to guide and lead team members from a functional perspective and help them build up a strong business understanding. (only People Manager role)

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Knowledge

  • 10+ years of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data

  • A degree in MBA with Bachelors in Engineering / Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or other numerical discipline, equivalent with relevant work experience in Data related technologies

  • Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations preferred

  • Knowledge of forecasting and statistical modelling techniques, market research and multivariate analysis tools (e.g., factor and cluster analysis, conjoint analysis etc.) is a plus

  • Strong programming skills and sound knowledge of Python, SQL or other equivalent analytical tools is required. Knowledge of Qlik Sense will be preferred

  • Ability to transform a business problem to a data problem is required

  • Previous experience in data commercialization will be advantageous

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Conduct in depth reviews and analysing data from reports to deliver observations, detail changes and identify the root cause

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas

  • Strong track record of delivering on high value/critical projects

  • Effective communication, inter-personal and experience at stakeholder management with ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholder, identify scope of improvement and provide efficient data driven solution

  • Strong analytical and curious mindset and ability to deliver despite multiple challenges

Others

  • Data Quality Analysis, Segmentation, Clustering techniques

  • Trend Analysis and Dashboard Creation based on Visualization technique

  • Data Implementation Checks and Quality Assurance

  • Knowledge and experience in SAS and QlikSense would be added advantage

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel including macro based excel sheets (VBA) are also an added advantage
