The Opportunity:

  • Business management team is an independent team based out of Bangalore and supports senior management to drive strategic business initiatives and manage several critical business processes and controls. We achieve this by pro-actively challenging the norm, seeking continuous improvement and by connecting various stakeholders across geographies within HSBC group.
  • To provide high quality and comprehensive administrative support to senior managers in HSBC Global Asset Management (UK) Ltd. The role includes World Check, covering new brokers and ongoing quarterly and annual checks for AMEU, HAIL and HMG. Also included is the management of Brokers used across the business, On boarding, Off-boarding, data maintenance and the gathering of the data required to facilitate ISDA negotiation, including the record of this for Front Office use.
  • The role incumbent will co-ordinate and control the Authorized signatory process adding and removing individuals or sections as required and ensuring these are approved by the relevant individuals within the business and that Board submissions are completed accurately and timely. The role also includes the management of all AMEU Contracts and agreements, as well as the production of KPI & control packs (monthly and quarterly) and the gathering of data to enable the response to entity level Due Diligence requests.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Engaging various teams in consolidating MIs for several functions to table at various forums and committee meetings
  • Managing meetings (Agenda/Meeting pack/MOMs) for various forums and committees
  • Assist the business in defining new business engagement models and ensure proper documentation (i.e. IMAs, DAs, PLAs) and sustainable controls are in place
  • Provide an oversight over existing agreements including coordination of regular reviews, MIs to monitor KPIs, actions to address any gaps & issues, own the repository
  • Managing Risk Controls Report to provide a monthly update on the effectiveness of the controls under COO office
  • As a part of Third Party oversight, perform entity level due diligence over service providers and also respond to due diligence requests received from service recipients.
  • Perform World Check searches (Financial Risk screening) and ensure findings are resolved/discussed with FCC and recorded for monthly reports
  • Provide documentation and regulatory checks support for broker onboarding and facilitates timely approvals on ISDAs
  • Maintaining information to enable publication of QIB certificates

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Leadership team involves working with the Controls team in Onshore and the VP in Offshore who will foresee that the deliverables are being met with the appropriate quality parameters.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in any stream and/or Masters in Business Administration
  • Relevant experience in financial services industry, preferably in asset management business
  • World Check – minimum of 2 years’ experience and an accuracy level of 98% based on a sample size of 100
  • Experience in cross-border arrangements and third party oversight
  • Strong knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Excel (Visio knowledge is a plus)
  • The ability to work accurately under pressure whilst maintaining close attention to detail
  • Good planning, problem solving, Analytical skills and organizational skills

Others

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Asset Management in European markets
  • VBA coding skills
