The Opportunity:
TCC Team caters globally (HBAP, HBUS, HBEU, HBUK, HBCE, EMEA, MENAT) as a key control for mitigating risks associated with Market manipulation, Market Abuse, Financial Crime, Internal Fraud Risk, Fraud against the bank (non-customer), Regulatory Compliance Risk, Inappropriate trading against the bank & Market Conduct, Failure to deal, manage and execute trades appropriately. We cater to Regulatory Requirements and put necessary controls to adhere to it across asset classes and business Lines.
What you’ll do:
Support in establishing Best Execution framework for businesses in Global Markets (Cash Equities, Cash FX, FI Bonds and Derivatives) by ensuring delivery of project as per plan.
Ensure service delivery, as per standards agreed, for Off Market and Best Execution processes, i.e. investigating off market exceptions, challenging traders on Best Ex exception reasons. Documenting and assessing for reasonableness of explanation. Escalating unreasonable rationale or pattern of suspicious activity to management.
Escalate, highlight and resolves issues and bottlenecks with swift efficiency and minimal to no impact on BAU.
Perform effective UAT and provide for any adhoc tasks along with key involvement in GFC wide initiatives.
Initiate and implement high-impact quality projects leading to operational efficiency and encouraging team efforts towards productivity gains.
Continuous review of processes with the objective of identifying control gaps & mitigating risks, improving the service delivery timeframes and identify areas of improvement.
Acting as an individual contributor support team and management in better team administration, act as lead in managing contingencies, time & expectations, ensuring back-up plan and contributing to hiring & attrition management
Exercise high degree of governance and control mechanism.
Adherence to Group values, policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements including but not limited to Declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, clear desk policy.
Continually assess operational risks inherent in the processes, taking account of changing procedures, staff movements, legal and regulatory requirements, management restructures, and impact of new technology.
Effectively drive and manage change, plan business contingency and achieve cross-training.
Ensuring BCP plan is documented, agreed with business partner and tested as per agreed timelines.
Ensure that there is full compliance with the Global Markets FIM, Internal Control Objectives

Global Exposure and experience in multi-tasking
Working with the Regulatory Middle Office function globally to identify, escalate and potentially remediate issues, exceptions and alerts.
Assist in the generation of periodic and ad-hoc Regulatory Reporting management information metrics for governance forums.
Delivering Global Control Framework activities for HSBC’s Global OTCD Trade Reporting Obligations
Interacting with global colleagues as part of daily controls
Producing regional Trade Reporting Governance packs for presentation to front-to-back stakeholders.
Understand HSBC’s Global Regulatory Obligations, System Infrastructure & Reporting Mechanisms as well as OTC Derivative Products and the OTCD Market and utilize this knowledge to identify reporting or operational inefficiencies and drive improvement.
Maintain comprehensive tracking of open reporting issues and ageing.
Use acquired knowledge to identify, investigate and mitigate new issues.
Process all stakeholder (internal and external) requests/queries in timely and accurate manner.
Ensure timely and accurate production of Off-Market Rate Checking and Best Ex Monitoring which is a key control in mitigating operational risks of inappropriate trader activity and reputational risk.
Oversight and execution of the end-to-end Internal Governance BL VRM packs and the Quarterly Submissions
Responsible for understanding various requirements of Volcker 2.0 Quarterly Submissions to Regulators and adhering to those requirements.
Ensure that Volcker Internal Governance Reports and Volcker Submissions are completed within the SLA and any issues observed are flagged to respective owners.
We are currently seeking for an ambitious individual to join the TCC Team in the role of Manager (GCB 6)
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Qualified Chartered Accountant/CFA/MBA with at least 5+ years of experience in Product Control or Global Markets environment and organization of similar scale with US GAAP, IFRS, IAS reporting framework for external candidates.
Candidates applying internally within HSBC – HR IJP policy to be applied.
Knowledge of Product Control functions in a banking environment with exposure to Traded markets products is mandatory.
Knowledge of various Global Market products like Equities, Foreign Exchange, fixed income, Derivatives - Options, Interest rate swaps, Equity Derivatives, Credit Derivatives etc.
Proven ability to manage migrations of finance processes and exposure to diverse/multi-culture work environments with strong organization, time management and prioritization skills.
Excellent communication skills and presentation skills are mandatory, as are good tact and diplomacy, as the role requires relationship management with other individuals and teams within the HSBC Group
Interpersonal skills: persistent, ability to work effectively with senior & junior staff, ability to challenge inputs from senior colleagues in a constructive manner, ability to give feedback positively, co-ordinate work across multiple teams, multi-task.
Orientation towards Quality (Six Sigma/Lean methodology) and technical bent of mind
Proficiency in MS Office Suite; Exposure to Project Management Software and experience in working on MS Access databases.
Ideally, experience of leading and managing teams of between 3-5 members or experience of being a senior/deputy within a team.
