We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Principal Data Scientist.

The Principal Data Scientist role within CMB Redress Analytics is crucial for developing models and decision support tools that enhance the Redress strategies for HSBC UK. This position leverages cutting-edge Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technologies to address complex challenges, ensuring accurate identification of impacted customers and calculating refunds due. You will be instrumental in deploying scalable insights and capabilities across large data sets, supporting remediation programs that span multiple products. Your expertise will drive impactful outcomes for both the business and its customers, while fostering collaboration across various domain experts.

In this role you will:

• Utilise machine learning and advanced analytics to support the Redress strategy, ensuring accurate identification and calculation of refunds.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business understanding into insightful data projects that benefit the organization.
• Develop new capabilities using next-gen ML and AI technologies.
• Work with data engineering to ensure reusable assets and collaborate with data visualization specialists for clear communication of insights.
• Deliver impactful outcomes to the business and its customers.
• Shape and influence project direction, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

To be successful in this role you should have:

• Proficiency in Python, BigQuery, SAS and similar statistical languages.
• Experience with ML deployment strategies and infrastructure, including Vertex AI.
• Proven track record of delivering data science products into production environments, considering ethical and governance policies.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex subjects to diverse audiences.
• Critical thinking skills underpinned by logic and reasonability.
• Ability to construct, syndicate, and manage project timing plans.
