- Data and Reg Reporting (DnRR) is a function within Markets and Securities Services Ops responsible for Trade and Transaction Reporting, Collateral Management, Tax Operations, and multiple reference data domains.
- The Trade and Transaction Reporting (T&TR) operations function supports the major global reporting obligations including MiFID, EMIR, SFTR, CFTC, HKMA, with the primary role as control owner. This function operates hundreds of controls across those regulations which, in the last three years, have been migrated to new in-house control tooling which provides greater flexibility and operability of the controls.
The Opportunity:
- As a T&TR Controls Pod Member for the Trade Reporting ‘Control Framework’, you will be responsible for the ongoing software development and support of a suite of Trade Reporting Controls and capabilities for checking the Completeness, Accuracy and Timeliness of our Trade Reporting platform, as well as Governance MI Dashboards to govern Controls and Operational Processes, covering aspects such as Controls Execution, Control Results, Control Remediation Status, Operational Analytics, and Operational Process Data Hygiene. The Controls are implemented using Python and the MI Dashboards are in QlikSense.
What you’ll do:
- Software Development and implementation of Trade Reporting Controls using Python.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and actively drive code optimization efforts.
- Drive innovation in the use of Python for enhanced controls and reporting.
- Take a proactive role in troubleshooting technical issues.
- Ensure the stability of the Production environment including production bandwidth and failure monitoring as well as Post Implementation Reviews/Incident Reviews as required.
- Contribute to effective estimating and sprint plans, ensuring the timely delivery of Trade Reporting Controls and MI Dashboards.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements to Service Management.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Hands-on commercial or graduate project level experience as Python Developer
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex business requirements.
- Strong time management and estimating skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in Python programming with a strong understanding of Python libraries and frameworks.
- Experience with using Python core libraries e.g. data retrieval over REST API and data manipulation including Pandas, Numpy.
- Knowledge of database systems, SQL, and data modelling.
What additional skills will be good to have?
- Experience in Trade and Transaction Reporting
- Previous tenure at HSBC is a plus.
