The Opportunity:

  • Reporting to VP CGS OPERATIONS AND TECH TRANSFORMATION, the Risk Support Manager is responsible for
  • Supporting the CRAO and Global Risk Manager in the identification, tracking, mitigation and reporting of all risks impacting the Governance RCA and risk profile and in demonstrating effective risk management and driving a culture of risk awareness across the Governance team.
  • Identify internal and external risks that could impact business operations, financial performance, or reputation.
  • Helios maintenance, including issue and action tracking.
  • Risk reporting, including preparation of the OpCo & Senior Leadership team reporting packs.
  • Third Party Risk Management oversight including risk assessments to evaluate potential threats, vulnerabilities and DataVisa requirements.
  • Supporting the Global Risk Manager in undertaking required assessments and reviews.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies, frameworks and procedures.
  • Work closely with the business units and mainly with the governance teams based out of India to ensure risk mitigation strategies are effectively integrated into operational processes.
  • Supporting in bi-annual Continuous Monitoring and Assessments, ELC & SoX process reporting.
  • Supporting the Global Risk Manager in raising risk awareness and co-ordinating relevant communications
  • Periodic reporting of high-risk areas e.g., NED EV
  • Undertaking Risk administration activities, including tracking of IT exceptions
  • Participating in Business Continuity Planning for the COO team and where required the overall Governance function.
  • Ensuring Regulatory compliance by undertaking Employee Conduct Activities & Reporting including GPAD, Personal Connections, Conflicts of Interest and maintenance of the RC RCA.
  • Managing Internal Events, including identification, tracking and reporting.
  • Assisting with ad hoc requests e.g., NED password reset / Mobile Device replacement programme / additional control testing / new reg reporting inventories etc
  • Managing a wide range of key stakeholder relationships across all levels within PG&C, & other Global Functions / Infrastructure as required including providing advice, guidance, & support to members of the Governance function and supporting the CRAO and Global Risk Manager in managing key relationships with Risk, People and GIA.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national and international risk related regulations and standard.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Global Risk Manager and CRAO in providing advice, analysis, & guidance to the Governance leadership team on Risk Management financial, performance & operational matters
  • Assist the COO Team to ensure any changes to policy, regulation or standards are implemented across the relevant regions.
  • Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders, including Risk, People & GIA.

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Champion a strong risk culture across the PG&C function.
  • Lead on the sharing of knowledge and best risk management practices.
  • Act as key contact between the COO team & regional leaders with respect to risk management activity.
  • Support the Global Risk Manager in leading the risk agenda & managing relevant communications, ensuring buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Ad-hoc operational projects & tasks at CRAO discretion.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Relevant Risk Management qualification and / or experience within a financial services environment.
  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity, operating in a complex matrix environment & servicing multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to synthesize complex data into readily digestible reporting
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively & confidently at all levels.
  • Ability to undertake a proactive approach to tasks with the support and guidance of the Global Risk Manager and CRAO.

Functional Knowledge:

  •  Strong understanding of HSBC Group policies & businesses, & role model for HSBC Values.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the PG&C function and its operations and the risks thereto.
