The Opportunity:
- This role provides operational and/or technical support on the GPS application to Payment Operations by specializing in critical or unique operational and/or technical expertise, supporting major initiatives, or assisting in executing strategic direction while continuing to fully utilize Payment operations expertise.
- The role supports end to end exposure on various payments platforms especially the GPS application along which it also gives one the experience and learning of various roles like in-depth application knowledge, tech support, testing etc. within the payment’s world.
- Provides troubleshooting for complex processes or issues. Possess specialized operational and/or technical knowledge in the Payment Operations area, which includes High Value Payments.
- Provide incident support during system outages, delivering clear updates to all stakeholders, and escalates where necessary to ensure timely resolution. Maintain high levels of Customer Service, technical support and guidance to the user community.

What you’ll do:
- Review processes for effectiveness, ensuring quality service provision, recommend, and support implementation of productivity efficiency improvements while not sacrificing service quality.
- The jobholder will demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
- The jobholder will comply with HSBC Global Standard, Compliance, Risk, Audit and Legal polices and guidelines. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
- Provide consultation and assistance to Corporate and Business organizations as assigned.
- Interface with other areas outside of Payment Operations, ie Technology, Audit, Compliance to ensure processes remain within relevant process standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Own the incidents, escalate and communicate to the concerned team and help eliminate the cause quickly.
- Lead cross-site, cross-cultural project working groups. To handle escalations and liaise with the Business Area as necessary
- Applies Payment Operations expertise to business problems and management support.
- In support assigned area of responsibility, identifies process improvements and problem prevention, and advises department and management of relevant information as appropriate.
- Perform regular and adhoc tasks as they arise on testing / Incidents / escalations / Setups and Production escalations.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Interface with other areas outside of Payment Operations, ie Technology, Audit, Compliance to ensure processes remain within relevant process standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure work produced within Payment Operations meets and or exceeds internal client expectations.
- In event of operational deficiencies understand and identify process gaps to alleviate issues to avoid repeat occurrence.
- Provide regular quantitative updates to all stakeholders on progress and represent Production Support in all relevant meetings by providing appropriate guidance on the progress.
- Work closely with the UAT / GSDT/ SD / PCM teams to ensure progress on work given is clearly understood and work collaboratively to address any issues or potential delays.

- Establish and maintain effective relationship with business partners. Understand goals, concerns and effectively manage expectations by identify areas of service improvements
- Share best practices within Payments CoE, with peers and colleagues
- Ensure any impact is clearly communicated via the appropriate channels and that effective action is undertaken.
- Stakeholder management –Ensure timely communication and updates are sent to stakeholder and highlighting status, progress, risk, issues along with possible recommendations.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Operations, particularly for Payments (E)
- Previous involvement with Payment processing and Incident management (D)
- Proven management abilities in leading change and projects (D)
- People management/ individual contributor/ team working
- ISO Knowledge on both CBPR+ & RTGS (D)
Skills:
- This role is an individual contributor role that is a subject matter expert (SME) in the assigned segment of Payment Operations.
- Project Management Skills - Planning, organizing and prioritization skills
- Excellent spoken communication skills – clear, unambiguous and customized to suit the audience
- Ability to communicate and negotiate with colleagues across all levels globally – from processing staff to senior management
- Effective leadership skills – to be able to lead and influence a large group of people, who will not have a formal reporting relationship with the individual

- Analytical skills – to be able to document process flows, analyze and identify areas for improvement
