GPS has recently launched a new 5-year strategy to help restore HSBC's position as a top Payments bank and deliver the full potential of our network for our clients. Data is crucial for the Channel Strategy and its OKRs, becoming increasingly significant for HSBC, particularly with changing regulations and policies.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Analytics Specialist, Client Connectivity. You will be responsible for the implementation of an insights based telemetry analytics capability that supports GPS globally. The role will report to the Global Head of GPS Delivery & Performance.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Product Ownership: Engage with business stakeholders and WDAC to develop and deliver a Strategic Digital Channel Analytics Data Asset, including Hybrid Analytics. Define the vision, prioritise the roadmap, and identify evolving business and customer needs for feature development and enhancements
- Request Management: Oversee Analytics and Insights requests submitted to the Channels Engagement, Insights, and Telemetry team. Prioritise the workload and roadmap, ensuring each request provides clear, tangible, and measurable business and customer benefits
- Leadership of Channels Insights Function: Manage Channels Insight FTEs and associated data or business analyst resources. Collaborate with other data and analytics teams to deliver high-quality, accessible analytics and insights promptly; Actioning Recommendations: Work with product owners, channels teams, and IT to implement recommendations from analytics and insights, ensuring business and customer benefits are realised, impacts measured, and results shared across the business
- Support Channels Data Strategy: Assist the Head of Engagement, Insights, and Telemetry in delivering the Channels Data Strategy, adding value through extensive data, analytics, insights, and technical product knowledge; Thought Leadership: Foster a community of analytics and insights expertise within Corporate and Institutional Banking. Champion insights and lead communication, promotion, and upskilling of colleagues in analytics and insight generation
- Relationship Building: Establish strong senior-level relationships across channels, product solutions, customer experience, propositions, innovation, and other functions to align strategies, foster collaboration, and integrate data, analytics, and insights into business initiatives
- Risk and Governance Partnership: Collaborate with Risk and Control to establish governance models and processes that enforce global and local standards, effectively identifying, mitigating, and escalating risks. Provide strategic direction and prioritisation to Wholesale IT and delivery teams for remediation efforts
- Standards Implementation: Lead and be accountable for defining and implementing global and local standards for channel insights and the Strategic Digital Channel Analytics Solution; Partnership with Risk and Control: Collaborate with Risk and Control to identify risks and ensure effective implementation of Governance Models and escalation processes across Digital Channels
- Risk Assessment: Continuously evaluate operational risks and the likelihood of their occurrence. This involves reviewing risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, as identified by the CRAO management team, while considering changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructurings, and the impact of new processes; Risks of Bad Data: Addressing risks related to data integrity, privacy, regulatory compliance, legal issues, operational challenges, and financial implications necessitates clear Global and Local Standards, Processes, and Governance Models, along with defined escalation routes
To be successful you will need
- Strong knowledge of data and analytics within a financial institution, particularly focused on wholesale clients and transaction banking; Industry recognized technical certifications i.e. PMP, CBAP, Agile, Master Black Belt – Six Sigma (Optional), TOGAF (Optional)
- High level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery of complex initiatives and business outcomes; Ability to understand and develop business cases, including complex business problems, with a strong commercial sense
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance sensitivities related to client data usage in financial institutions; Experience in implementing Value Streams, Agile methodologies and operating iterative delivery
- Familiarity with HSBC's business model, including customer propositions, channels, operations, and key financial performance drivers is an advantage
- Expertise in managing change and developing large-scale target operating models; Excellent skills in communicating and influencing effectively and confidently at all levels
- Proven ability to engage positively and challenge senior management across the group, working effectively in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environments
