The Opportunity:

  • This role reports functionally to the Regional Head of Managed Solutions, Asia Pacific and will focus on supporting the Asia Managed Solutions team on product control and oversight.  The candidate will be performing regular monitoring, under the supervision and guidance of a senior member, on discretionary program to ensure investment guidelines and client restrictions are being adhered to.  The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial markets, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable insights.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist the Regional Head of Discretionary in implementing the control & oversight framework for discretionary portfolio management activities.
  • Perform regular post-trade monitoring on discretionary portfolio activities.
  • Identify, escalate, and report investment breaches and exceptions to line manager for further investigation and remediation.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders, including Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Administrator and Product Specialist during the regular control and monitoring activities.
  • Approve trade reversal and amendment, use of derivatives hedging, and other (if any).
  • Assist the Regional Head of Discretionary, as the chair, to prepare monthly Asia Investment Committee Meeting.
  • Prepare regular management information (“MI”) and key risk indicator (“KRI”) for management reporting and oversight.
  • Coordinate system updates with relevant parties, including IT and Operation.

Targets & Measures:

  • Maintain product documentation libraries and MI datasets in a systematic and organised manner
  • Maintain clear audit trail on business updates and regulatory filings
  • Produce data analytics that are fit for purpose of the team and stakeholders
  • Preparing sharp and creative dashboards for business to have an overview as applicable
  • Nil evidence of breaches towards the bank’s policies & regulations like Data Protection and Privacy, Anti Money Laundering, Information Risk policy and Regulatory requirements, process specific regulations. Abide by Group Compliance policy
  • Clarity and proactive mode of communication and on time completion of deliverables

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance or related subject. (M)
  • Minimum 4 years of experiences in banking, finance, or asset management industry. (M)
  • Good understanding of different asset classes, such as Bonds, Equities, Multi-assets, Derivatives, Mutual funds, and ETFs. (D)
  • Analytical skillset and understanding of SQL, Python, Bi tools etc. (D)
  • Effective stakeholder management & communications, able to work with teams across locations. (M)
  • Professionalism, integrity, ability of problem solving, and strong sense of responsibility. (M)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. (M)
  • Strong Excel and Word skills. (M)

  • Critical to be able to collaborate as part of the broader Regional Managed Solutions team.
