The role holder will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Customer Due Diligence (CDD) & Know Your Customer (KYC) policy interpretation and guidance, by reviewing, digesting, applying and providing advice on key Customer Lifecycle Management (CLM) policies and procedures (e.g. CDD, Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions).

This role includes an element of coaching and developing within CDD to maintain compliance, sharing best practices in order to drive improvements in customer service, quality and consistency against standards and frameworks. The role holder will use the appropriate internal and Global frameworks: Global Standards (GS) and Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) related activities, including the completion of Enhanced Due Diligence, Sanctions and recognition of High Risk/SCC accounts.

This will be a leading role within the team where you will provide an escalation route for more complex KYC & CDD related queries, and will also have a lot of visibility with senior management including UK ExCo.

In this role you will:

  • Provide expert guidance on all CDD/KYC related matters to Offshore and Onshore CLM analysts and resolving complex queries between the Front Office & Offshore and Onshore Analysts
  • Act as the SME on CDD policy interpretation and guidance, including implementation
  • Ensure concerns are highlighted through the correct escalation process.
  • Ensure that both internal and external regulatory requirements are met.
  • Maintain credibility & build strong relationships with various business areas.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Extensive SME working knowledge of account opening & CDD/KYC requirements within a financial services environment - essential
  • A proven ability to advise colleagues on a range of complex issues relating to CDD & KYC requirements - essential
  • Strong leadership capability and an adeptness at building effective working relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Private Banking or Wealth Management experience - desirable
  • A good awareness of the regulatory landscape with an ability to maintain up to date knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements as well as being able to ensure other team members are also aware of any changes - essential
