Provide senior thought leadership (visionary and pragmatic) to deliver highly available, resilient, secure, performant, automated, agile (in response to changing demands), observable, and intelligent (AIOps) IBM Z storage infrastructure and services for supporting critical GBGFs in HSBC at a reasonable cost

Principal Accountabilities: 

·    Input to the total operating and investment cost and all commercial aspects of the IBM Z storage products and services globally.

·    Service quality of all IBM Z storage products and services globally by oversight of the implementation and configuration of the IBM Z storage estates.

·    Aid in developing expenditure budget and Annual Technology Plan covering the IBM Z storage portfolio and then deliver within agreed financial targets and ensure demand on the IBM Z Storage is closely aligned with global capability and workforce management objectives.

·    Ensure the products meet agreed service performance levels.

·    Deliver best value for the business through consistently meeting planned objectives and driving good commercial outcomes with vendors and service providers.

·    Design and engineer the delivery aspects of all IBM Z storage products and services globally. Be actively engaged in moving the IBM Z platform and the greater Enterprise Infrastructure function forward by having contributed, provided guidance, and thought leadership.

Knowledge & Experience

·    Good wide range of IBM Z storage, IBM Z technical and management experience required

·    Experience and proven track record in service quality and commercial oriented management

·    Thorough understanding of the management processes required to run large IT installations in IBM Z, storage software, disc management, disc replication technologies, IBM Z GDPS

·    In-depth understanding of the technical product and platform usages within the Enterprise Infrastructure sub-function and future roadmaps and have proven experience in driving the execution of technology product development plans or roadmaps

·    In-depth understanding of industry and vendor technology directions for the sub-function to enable HSBC determination of which technologies to adopt and at what point in the lifecycle
