The team are looking to hire a skilled Senior Compliance Manager with a strong understanding of financial crime regulations and CMB products, specifically Global Payment Services (GPS) or Global Trade Solutions (GTS). This exciting opportunity will form as part of the Line of Business Financial Crime Advisory Team, the team provide essential financial crime guidance and advice to colleagues across GPS, GTS and Lending.

In this role you will:

  • Playing a key role in helping assess the Financial Crime Compliance risks arising within the CMB business, with particular focus on the GPS, GTS and Lending businesses.  
  • Act as SME for key areas of regulation including but not limited to Payment Services Regulations (PSRs), UK Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs) and Payment Transparency Regulations. 
  • Challenging 1LoD when risks, issues and breaches arise, ensuring necessary and timely risk management actions are completed. Escalating concerns and emerging issues to line manager.
  • Assessing applicability of regulatory developments and providing guidance to 1LoD on interpretation and implementation of regulatory change.
  • Providing overall support to the team in delivering the objectives, in line with the UK Financial Crime Compliance priorities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • A strong understanding of the Financial Crime risks in relation to CMB products.
  • Sound knowledge of the UK regulatory environment including but not limited to: PSRs,  Money Laundering Regulations, Conduct related regulations such as Consumer Duty and their impact on how financial crime risk is managed
  • Experience working with all or some of the following product/business areas: Payments infrastructure, Payments products and services, Payments Transparency, Digital Channels such as HSBCnet, Global Trade Solutions
  • An understanding of HSBC’s Non-Financial Risk Management Framework.
  • Confidence to interact, influence and negotiate with business management.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills, inter-personal skills

This role is based in Birmingham on a hybrid working basis.
