Issuer Service provides trustee and agency services across a wide range of products, including Project & Export Finance, Securitization, Loans and Debt programmes. Our proposition enables clients to pursue international capital market activities: we expedite movements of cash and securities, protect the rights of interested parties and we assist our colleagues in GBM/CMB with the identification of ISV solutions to meet client requirements. Corporate Trust team authorize/validate/monitor and ensure the processing and administration of all types of Bonds where HSBC acts as the Issuing and Paying agent. Loan Agency team authorize/validate/monitor the full range of administrative duties of servicing a deal, as well as gaining exposure to a variety of syndicated facility types. Business support / management team is responsible for reconciliation, static data maintenance, user access management and call-back. The Opportunity:

  • The role operates within GSCs, ensuring high quality service to the business area and client, ensuring that risks are minimized, and profit is maximized through effective management of costs/ resources.  
  • The role holder is expected to spend 100% of the time in Business Insights/ automation. The role holder’s primary objective will be to build, develop and maintain business dashboards that provide deep analytical insights to functional & regional teams enabling performance improvement and data led decisions. Automation with the help of VBA/python to streamline the process.
    What you’ll do:
    Impact on the Business/Function 
  • The jobholder will be responsible for translation of shape of business by product and market month on month in a user friendly and easy to digest visual dashboards 
  • Provide insights on underlying and emerging trends as well as create predictive model for portfolio movements and alignment of resources 
  • Leverage the existing tools and technology in WCS to develop and play back KPI, KRIs and KCIs with insightful commentary for business, product and region.
  • Development and introduction of quality control processes for reporting 
  • Development of new reporting tools and insight, ways of working to help develop a center of excellence.
    Management of Risk 
  • Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.
  • Demonstrates compliance with HSBC Bank plc Group standards, manuals and policies and adheres to the defined work practices, internal controls and risk management standards associated with the role.
    Observation of Internal Controls
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business activities associated with the role.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • BCA or equivalent degree will be preferred with minimum experience of 1 - 3 Years in banking/ financial/ management / Business administration domain. 
  • Awareness of Lending or Corporate Trust will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent MS Office skills primarily Excel, VBA & PowerPoint.
  • Experience in application designing, development and deployment using Qlik Sense/ power BI will be preferred.
  • Expertise of MI/Analytics, Data Management, Business Analysis and Management Reporting.
  • Knowledge of Python/Alteryx will be advantageous.
  • Client centric – focused on improving output for internal and external clients and Inquisitive: looks to develop ‘better’ and must be a self-starter that can work with limited supervision 
  • Demonstrable ability to work under pressure and make decisions based on priorities 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally; Ability to plan and organize projects to meet deadlines, taking into account relative priorities
