The Opportunity: - As a Manager Operations of the process, lead and support a team of individuals having highly demanding skillset to service UNHW clients across multiple activities including Account Opening & Servicing, Banking Services, Corporate Actions, Securities Processing, etc.
What you’ll do: - The position requires working closely with various business units including Relationship Managers, Administrators, Middle Office Support teams, Compliance, and Senior Management.
- Monitoring (and seeking ways of improving) department efficiencies and productivity, including working with key stakeholders on behalf of the department to improve business performance; ensuring quality is in line with Bank/ Team standards.
- Building and developing a highly motivated/ skilled team, to enable the department to achieve its business objectives; building an environment where new ideas are actively encouraged/ considered in pursuit of improved customer service and improved work environment; taking ownership of managing resources effectively to meet business objectives.
- Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by Business Partners.
- To continually assess and mitigate the operational risks inherent in the processes, taking account of changing operating procedures, staff movements, Business/ Management restructures, legal and regulatory requirements, and the impact of new technology.
- Lead and develop teams and individuals, focusing on development of direct reports. Create a supportive work environment. Motivate teamsworking in a challenging operational environment working different shifts.
- Support and lead migration/remigrations. The selected individual will be support.
- Manage work for quality and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Ensure that controls and structure is in place to meet Business expectations.
- Understand Management Information (MI) requirements to be able to produce, analyze and interpret MI.
- Business data requirements are completed accurately and supporting statistics/reports are presented to business/management within agreed timescales.
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role
- Prior Investment Operations or similar experience in Private Banking operation.
- Good understanding of E2E of the trade lifecycle and parties involved.
- Working experience in Settlements and/or Payment & Cash Management process is essential.
- Strong knowledge of investment products (Equities, Derivatives, Mutual & Hedge funds, Fixed Income Securities).
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Good judgement and decision-making skill. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

- Proven leadership and management capabilities.
- Considerable flexibility in working varying shifts to support UK/US/APAC business hours, when necessary, which will normally be from around 12:30pm – 21:30pm IST (UK business hours) or 5:30 PM and 2:30 AM IST (US Business hours) DST applicable. Asia Pacific Business hours 6 30am - 3:30pm IST.
- Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
Understands, follows, and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the - conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
What additional skills will be good to have? - Good communication and organizational skills.
- Working Knowledge of Avaloq, Bloomberg/Request Builder, TLM, GMG, custodian platforms, etc.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the bank’s products, operations process, and procedures.
- Understanding and interpretation of Swift instructions/messages.
