As Risk Stewards, Financial Crime Advisors provide advice, guidance, opinions, direction, and training related to the FC landscape to the First Line of Defence/business. They ensure the business complies with the letter and spirit of relevant regulations, thereby delivering fair outcomes for customers and embedding a robust risk management culture in HSBC's business processes. They are a key risk management role that has a broad remit and responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to; advice and oversight on Conduct, Regulatory Affairs & Policy (RAP), Controls, Monitoring & Testing (CMAT), Assurance, Regulator Engagement, conflict management and general FC issues.
The remit may range from a small geographic area/country to global for a Function or Global Business Line

As our Vice President Finacial Crime Strategy and Framework you will:
 

  • Optimizing and streamlining processes covering a variety of key tasks including the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA), Risk and Controls Assessment (RCA), Continuous Monitoring Oversight, Management Information (MI), Risk Stewardship Oversight (including Issues Management), and a variety of other Non-Financial Risk (NFR)-related activities
  • Fostering a positive culture of compliance by working proactively with the business line/global function/HOST, Business Risk and Control Management BRCM and other Risk & Compliance professionals to ensure that best practices are followed in accordance with the applicable laws, rules, regulations and internal policy
     
  • Following prescribed issue escalation protocols, monitoring and surveillance of business activities, and revising procedures, as appropriate
     
  • Serving as point of contact for an assigned business line, global function or HOST, as appropriate
    Providing FC support, advice and guidance to an assigned business line/global function/HOST and to the applicable FC functions, as appropriate
     
  • Advise and guide assurance teams within Regional and Global Business teams on relevant FC matters
    Work with the FC Functional Heads to ensure the successful implementation of this strategy
    Ensuring effective FC input to the governance and reporting processes operated by Global Business/Global functions/HOST
  • Establish management and administrative procedures and processes for own function or region/country, to ensure adherence to policies and manage operational risk, with due consideration to both HSBC and area or Global/Regional/Country activities

     For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $138,400.00 and $207,600.00

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Experienced Risk professional with significant experience with a large financial institution

  • In-depth knowledge of HSBC as an institution and experience internal operating procedures and corporate culture 

  • Past experience with HSBC processes related to Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA), Risk and Controls

  • Assessment (RCA), Continuous Monitoring Oversight, Management Information (MI), Risk Stewardship

  • Oversight, and other Non-Financial Risk (NFR)-related activities
