Our GCOO organisation is critical for HSBC. This team partners closely with business teams to drive simplification and deliver exceptional customer outcomes in Asia and the Middle East region which covers 26 markets, 600+ offices and branches, and more than 140,000 employees. By strengthening our control environment and enhancing risk management, we drive operational excellence and enable the bank to deliver focused and sustainable growth in this super-region.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Vice President Governance and People.

The role provides the Head of Performance with dedicated operational management support including but not limited to management of cross-GCOO activities, interacting with and influencing with relevant counterparts from other Businesses / Functions, regulators and other external bodies, as well as management of the GCOO regulatory and legal responsibilities across the entities.

Responsibilities:

Leading the People and Governance team with responsibility expands the following:
  • Monitoring of GCOO performance, inline with the bank’s strategy.
  • Assist the Head of Performance in tracking various GCOO / GCIO initiatives
  • Provide value added business management activities, planning, resource and cost analysis to improve financial performance and make informed decisions
  • Ensure data quality, as well as develop accurate, reliable, and robust management information to assist in data – driven decision making
  • Deliver the implementation of People agenda across GCOO and GCIO

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
  • Indonesian Citizen Only
  • Demonstrated overall knowledge of banking operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology development and how this can be used to meet business needs
  • Practical experience of transformation / change initiatives with project management experience
  • Financial and accounting acumen
  • Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively
  • Experience of managing within a complex matrix environment
  • Experience working across cultures
  • Knowledge of the external environment - regulatory, political, competitor and market
  • Understanding of local operating markets and their corresponding span(s) of control
