The position of Risk & Control Lead within the Business Performance team is an impactful role that requires strong problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal skills in a challenging – yet rewarding - environment.  This role provides an opportunity to participate in change initiative implementation in IWPB’s roadmap as well support run the bank activities related to control monitoring, execution, and implementation. Candidates must be ready and excited to provide hands-on leadership to deliver results.

As our Controls Management you will:

  • Report to the Head of International, Collaboration, and Business Performance providing assurance of a well-controlled Business.  The role will entail responsibility for a number key activities including management and interpretation of Management Information to develop insight supporting the monitoring and control of risk, developing controls to better manage business risks, progressing actions related to change initiatives and/or issues
  • Maintain and execute the control and monitoring framework associated to the Private Bank sales team
  • Develop solutions to improve data usability and manageability, including enhancements to data quality and integrity, working across local and global teams
  • Support monitoring, executing, and implementation of control framework associated to Private Bank sales team
  • Identify and escalate issues
  • Review and develop policies and procedures related to sales teams to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
  • Perform other risk and control duties as assigned

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $85,000.00 and $127,500.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years proven and progressive private banking or customer service experience or equivalent, including knowledge and understanding of the major products/services available in the private banking industry
  • Minimum of two years of experience in controls/risk management
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational and communication skills with experience in interacting across multiple areas and functions (IT, Compliance, Legal, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Excel is mandatory
  • Knowledge in Qlik preferred
  • Expertise leveraging project management tools including Jira, Confluence and Clarity
  • Ability to influence staff without direct reporting lines
  • Stakeholder management including executive presence
