We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Delivery Head

Business: CTO

Principal responsibilities

  • Own and manage end to end engineering delivery of products on a diverse set of technology platforms.
  • Define the technical vision and roadmap for the product. Build and execute the strategy to reach the vision and deliver on roadmap.
  • Be responsible for planning and delivery of the releases (including functional and technical book of work items), per the release cadence and committed scope.
  • Ensure high quality outcomes that are performant and in line with business requirements and within agreed costs and timescales.
  • Technically and functionally lead pod teams of cross functional engineers for feature delivery. Be hands on as required. Be accountable for people management, career, performance and upskilling.
  • Conceptualise, design, develop and reuse effective engineering design, patterns & frameworks around the stated architecture strategy, aligning to departmental standards as appropriate.
  • Drive operational, delivery and engineering excellence across the pod teams. Be accountable for production and for delivery.
  • Actively drive continuous improvement, mature the organisation and improve productivity. Focus on automation, process improvement, reuse.
  • Ensure compliance to end to end controls for the product and data, including effective risk and control management inclusive of non-financial risks, compliance and conduct responsibilities. Adhere to HSBC standard processes.
  • Triage product issues (bugs, security, performance) by identifying the root causes and resolving them.
  • Collaborates across functional areas to define, prioritize and ensure implementation of innovations to improve technical functionality in support of business needs, efficiencies and revenue.
  • Continuously evolve the agile and DevSecOps maturity of the team to “Go faster, break less and Protect production”.
  • Think Commercially.
  • Facilitate meetings, meetups, learning sessions and write blogs to disseminate information in a sustainable way.
  • Implement proper process and practice to improve quality and efficiency.
  • End-to-end responsibility / accountability across IT development life cycle.
  • Operating in a global environment and collaborating with people of different structure and background in delivering projects that align with a common operating model.
Requirements
  • Excellent understanding with hands on experience of DevOps and core capabilities like SCM, AM, CICD.
  • Proven track record of technology leadership and delivery.
  • Solid experience in End to End Product management and Organizational Leadership.
  • Expertise in designing, developing, and operating services.
  • Highly proficient in working in an agile way with a high empathy for continuous delivery and DevSecOps – must be able to do small, low-risk, high cadence change.
  • Proven track record in leading a team of engineers to 'get the job done' this is a combination of technical change as well organizational change.
  • Expertise in systems thinking.
  • Empathy and understanding of people and the roles they play in organisations.
  • Have a deep awareness of technology, what is happening in the tech community, thinking critically about it and applying that to delivering change.
  • Have good working knowledge with various security methodologies like SAST, FOSS, DAST, Infra/Container security and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
  • Possess good knowledge of at least one Cloud Computing platform.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven fast learner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team player, with extensive leadership and senior stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience of leading global teams, located in diverse geographic locations, across time-zones, and maturing offshore teams of engineers.
