This position is responsible for the strategy, management, and development of Digital Channels into a key sales and service channel and thereby managing this channel as profit center. Also accountable for designing and building digital customer onboarding journey in collaboration with Fintech partners and the technology teams. The role will be responsible for driving digital activation and mobile penetration in the existing customer base and will also be responsible for migration of customers from offline to online channels. Role also involves commercialization of all new features launched within the Digital platforms.

VP-Digital Commercialization is key role within the Digital team.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for driving channel adoption, increasing penetration on digital platforms and commercialization of all features launched on digital platforms
  • Working closely with the digital channel leads to build best in class journeys on digital and commercializing the same
  • Working with Front teams ( Branch and Sales team) to get customers active on the digital platforms
  • Working closely with marketing and proposition teams in launch campaigns/customer communication to promote digital
  • Responsible for driving positive Mobile NPS scores by working with the customer experience team.
  • Working closely with the CLCM lead to drive penetration of digital within the New to Bank and existing to bank base
  • Collaborating with the data and analytics team to identify customer behaviour on digital and target the right segment using the right channels
  • Develop strong working relationships with WPB Group Digital Product Management, Value Stream and Platform Leads to understand the global product roadmap in order to design for India regulatory and competitive environment
  • Responsible for providing on the ground Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for requirements and delivery sprints, articulating their product vision, owning requirements (user stories, designs, copy) and empowered to make decisions on scope and priorities (based on a variety of factors).
  • Not directly responsible for a digital P&L but accountable for the effectiveness and efficiency of the design and delivery of their product set
  • Primary interactions will be with three broad groups: (a) Local WPB Digital Team and others including Data & Analytics, OI/NRI, Propositions, Marketing, Wealth, MSF, NRI, HOST, IT and Risk Stewards etc (b) External- Regulatory bodies ( (c) Global Digital Product teams, SWD Engineering, Core Banking-Hub team, GHCS team and HSBC Technology India
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA with 10-15 years of experience in Digital Banking, Product Management, Technology, Payments, and Digital customer onboarding
  • Energetic, positive attitude and team player
  • Experience in designing products whilst having a passion for creating best in class experiences
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to operate effectively with ambiguous and incomplete data
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to use tools such as Confluence, Jira, Adobe Analytics
  • Ability to formulate and execute key artifacts such as Product Roadmaps & Business Cases
