We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Economist.
Principal Responsibilities
To produce macroeconomic analysis and forecasts for the Japan and Emerging Market (ASEAN) economies, market the views to internal and external clients of the bank and contribute to regular publications and thematic research.
In this role you will
- Partner with the Economics team to support research operations
- Compile / Maintain databases and forecast files
- Develop and maintain statistical models to forecast economic variables such as inflation, GDP, trade, etc
- Writing research reports and notes on economies along with country senior economists as required
- Actively collaborating with researchers from other asset classes to maintain consistency of forecasts
Requirements
To be successful you will need
- An economics or related degree from a reputed university
- Experience in macroeconomics research
- A strong understanding of macroeconomic concepts and financial markets
- Analytical reasoning; Extremely meticulous and organised
- Excellent written & verbal communication / presentation skills
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills and familiarity with data analysis and statistics
- Proficient in written and spoken English, and Japanese
- Hands on experience in creating statistical models will be an added plus
