Global Finance

Global Finance aims to provide HSBC with a professional, effective and responsive finance service that operates at optimal cost and employs a common and transparent global model.

We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Finance Manager. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective controls over general ledger reconciliation and substantiation processes which includes continuous review of current processes for process streamlining and strengthening of controls.

  • Exercise controls from second line of defence perspective to ensure adherence to HSBC internal policy and procedures. This includes identifying the potential risk and improvement opportunities.

  • Collaborate and drive timely implementation of internal and external audit actions or recommendation arising from audit review.

  • Manage the implementation of local/ regional/ Group requirement via collaboration with local and regional stakeholders. Ensure risk and impact assessments are performed properly and addressed appropriately to minimise risk and adverse impact from the implementation.

  • Drive streamlining opportunities of the team, participate in project work and system testing.

  • Oversee Group general ledger certification system, which includes general ledger to user mapping and users’ certification process. Also holds consultative and training role to ensure smooth operational workflow, resolve the related policy and treatment queries.

  • Leading the Bank’s Nostro account reconciliation activities. This includes close monitoring and strong advocate with various parties within the Bank to ensure prompt action and clearance of Nostro items.

  • Maintaining strong working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient controls over SOX in-scope processes.

  • Support senior Finance management and audit committees through preparation of timely & accurate reporting of Accounting Reconciliation Controls Certification.

Requirements

Principal Requirements

  • Minimum with Degree qualification. Possessing 3 to 5 years of related knowledge and practical experience in a financial control environment will be additional advantage.

  • A good understanding and appreciation of banking products, international accounting standards and accounting practices.

  • Strong independent contributor who is comfortable working in a self-directed mode.

  • Effective communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including experience in presenting, influencing and maintaining strong working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders;

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; and resilient and adaptable with system technical experience; Possessing the knowledge of Python/ Xceptor/ Qliksense applications will be additional advantage;

  • Possess strong analytical ability to understand and address requirements from Business or regulators impacting Finance.

  • Firm leadership capabilities of navigating, aspiring, driving, mobilising and sustaining, in line with HSBC values of open, connected and dependable.

 

Due to the urgent hiring need, candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation needed will be prioritised.

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting.
