The role holder will be a genuine team player, supporting Disclosures Assurance team in ensuring that the CA assessment plan is executed as assigned, meeting HSBC risk management requirements and regulatory expectations, while providing Risk Stewards, Control Owners and senior management with timely risk management insight.

What you’ll do
    • Supporting planning of comprehensive, robust and commercially considerate testing plans, and agreeing this with the relevant Risk Stewards, peer assurance teams and framework teams.
    • Understanding the practical application of business processes and control activities, to develop and configure test scripts, and applying these test scripts to test the design, operation, recording and monitoring of these areas.
    • Continuously assessing the control testing framework by developing and implementing innovative approaches to CA testing and reviews with the support from Analytics and Automation team.
    • Executing the plan, ensuring that testing is accurate, effective and abides by CA procedures and templates, and meets quality control requirements. 
    • Contributing to high performance and supportive culture in the teams.
    • Delivery of reviews, following ambitious targets and using experience/ knowledge to intervene and redirect testing as required, resolving escalations when they arise. 
    • Supporting management of GSC stakeholders and collaborating with other Risk and Compliance functions, in the regions and/or at a global level, to ensure the effective delivery of the assurance.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in financial services: credit risk area, regulatory reporting, regulatory compliance, testing, audit and/or legal management experience or equivalent.
    • Knowledge/experience in Credit Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Products would be advantageous
    • Understanding of banking financial and non-financial risks, the aptitude to learn about new and emerging risk types.
    • An innovative and forward-thinking mindset, and a proven ability to question, evaluate, and improve existing business processes and adequacy of information.
    • Proven organisational, planning, interpersonal, managerial, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and team building skills. 
    • Project and/or change management skills is advantageous.
    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related field such as business, finance, law, IT or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Fluent in both oral and written English.
