We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  Head of Service Delivery – Cryptography.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of Subject Matter Experts to deliver business requestable services supporting the Network Security capability.
  • This includes conducting in-depth reviews of security documentation and other network related requests to identify potential gaps in security controls and working with system owners and other stakeholders to develop and implement remediation plans for identified security deficiencies.
  • Work closely with the Network Security capability owner to ensure that business requestable services supporting the Network Security capability meet the capability requirements.
  • Setting, monitoring and reporting on performance and quality standards against business requestable services supporting the Network Security capability.
  • Provide key representation for, and a source of expertise on, network security issues.
  • Support the delivery of the Global Defence Engineering operating strategy.
  • Drive engagement with all relevant regional and global stakeholders (cyber security colleagues across Strategy and Architecture, Security Shared Services, Security Engineering and business and IT Functions).
  • Work closely with the Business as the 1LOD function and understand strategy while maintaining visibility of their IT security risk profile, exposures and control effectiveness and to provide robust challenge to the same audience when information security risk appetites are breached.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure information security requirements are adhered to globally by ensuring effective compliance and measures are in place.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience of leading high performing teams of cybersecurity subject matter experts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proven experience of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience of understanding and meeting the needs of multiple stakeholders. 
  • A track record of making strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities, and stakeholders' needs.
  • An ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily understood, authoritative and actionable manner. 
  • Proven experience of successful operational management, utilizing relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery.
  • Resilient and adaptive to changing situations, with a strong desire to empower the team. 
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience of common cybersecurity technologies such as; IDS/ IPS/ HIPS, Advanced Anti-malware prevention and analysis, Firewalls, Proxies, MSS, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of common network protocols such as TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, HTTP, etc. and network protocol analysis suits.
  • Strong knowledge of 3rd party cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure and Google.
  • Strong knowledge of cryptographic key management and associated solutions
  • Knowledge of common enterprise technology infrastructure, platforms, middleware, databases, applications, and tooling, including Windows, Linux, infrastructure management and networking hardware.
  • Understanding of security concepts, including access control, cryptography, and network security
  • Comprehensive understanding of security in context of wider industry trends and direction
