Role purpose:
Global Finance is integral to HSBC’s purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in managing costs and deploying capital in the most effective way. Our global team of Finance professionals’ partner with the business to provide trusted insights and forward-looking analysis, accuracy, efficiency, and control to frame and influence business decisions.
In the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function we provide accurate, relevant, and forward-looking management information (MI), help stakeholders understand tactical and strategic options, make tangible recommendations, and provide analysis to influence and support business decisions. Business partnering is a crucial element.
The role holder should be able to provide IWPB CFO(s), insightful business performance analytics and executive reports on a timely and accurate way, identifying and highlighting key drivers/KPIs of performance, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decisions. Interpersonal skills, writing communication and Senior stakeholder management needed to execute this role successfully.
Main Responsibilities:
· Analyze business performance and provide insightful commentaries for local and global reports.
· Independently manage the reporting deliverables ensuring completeness and accuracy of Financial and Non-Financial KPI's.
· Partner very closely with offshore teams and Global Business Finance teams. And onshore IWPB teams to ensure data is submitted on time, is complete and accurate.
· Planning and Forecasting - Support the Planning process by developing FRP models to support Target setting. Forecasts model development for predictive impacts on revenue based on levels of net new money, sales funnel metrics, changes in pricing, market action, interest rates and other key variables.
· Ensure that Analytical models are efficient so they can be quickly updated to provide timely support for business key stakeholders.
· Track instances of incomplete and inaccurate data to follow up and solve issues detected.
· Ensure Data integrity.
· PnL management – Understand each business key drivers. Continuously review business performance and projections with business finance partners to identify risk and opportunities supporting decision making that is aligned to the business strategy and commitments.
· Contribute to key stakeholders and senior managers with ideas and analysis for a better decision-making process and FRP (annual operating plan) achievement.
· Promote the implementation of the key business and financial strategic initiatives providing insightful advice.

Functional Knowledge
· Background in Business Finance / Financial Planning & Analysis, Economics or related areas
· The role requires a comprehensive understanding of several value units / products / regions / legal entities, alongside an advanced understanding of the industry and the relative positioning of the HSBC's products and services.
· Retail Product Knowledge.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
· Database management.
· Understand the MI data process and resolve any instances of data integrity issues.
· Highly analytical skills: keep on detail without missing overall picture and key objectives.
· Study trends and interpret financial and non-financial information.
· Understanding of accounting reporting rules: US-GAAP and IFRS desirable.
· Automation tools like Python, VBA or SQL is desirable.
